Audrey Grace birth story (kahorstman)

So I was due on June 13 and I honestly thought I wouldn't go into labor until then or after, this being my first child. My bf Zack drove across the country Friday and Saturday to be here with enough time to get some things done before her birth. Saturday I was uncomfortable and having some what I thought was just Braxton hicks contractions. They didn't hurt and didn't appear to be timeable. Ran some errands, could definitely feel her pushing on me but that seemed normal too. By about 730 Saturday night I started having some back pain and was uncomfortable but it didn't seem like contractions, just back pain. Zack got here to Colorado at 930. We hung out, relaxed, took a shower and went to bed around 11pm. 20 minutes later, I felt and heard a "pop" and then a huge gush of water. Jumped out of bed, got to the bathroom and just went "no way!" Started laughing, called the hospital and they told us to come in. I still didn't have contractions but the water kept coming.

It wasn't till we got to the hospital that I started having painful contractions. I was already at 5cm by the time I got admitted and undressed. I got an epidural an hour after that and kept telling the nurses and doctors how much I loved them. Zack was pretty surprised by how much I was just shaking and vibrating from the adrenaline. By 8 am Sunday I was fully dilated and ready to push. Two hours later and Audrey Grace was born 9:49 am, 6 lb 14 oz and 19.5 in long.

5 days early and perfect. Now if I can get her to sleep somewhere other than on my chest I'll be making progress :-)
