Recommend your nursing bra

I'm currently using Bravado seamless silk nursing bras. I love that they are comfortable, no underwire and fits well for my large chest. But they are HOT!! I am sweating like crazy in these bras and it just won't do for when I go back to work.

So, do you love your nursing bra? Tell me about it!

Bonus points for non-underwire but I'm willing to consider underwire at this point.

TIA!!

Re: Recommend your nursing bra

  • Soma. They're underwire, but they're wonderful. I should have invested months ago. So soft and very supportive.

  • I have a large chest, 34G, the lack of underwire was killing me. I got fitted at Nordstrom with regular bras and had them converted into nursing bras for $10 each. It's been wonderful having regular bras.

The woman at the lactation store basically told me I would for sure get mastitis if I used a underwire. I have had no issues. It's all about fit and considering so many women are not properly fitted in bras, I think that's where that comes from.

I have a bunch of kinds, even a few really expensive ones, and my favorites are still the Target brand.

Yeah, I guess I should go get sized before I buy anything. I've been sized before but it was pre pregnancy. I'm nervous about underwire for that reason but I think you're right that fit is key.

    Thanks for the recommendations ladies!
  • Definitely get sized! I was shocked to find out my size. I have a bra from target that is ill fitting and I think it led to a clogged duct. I won't wear it again. Turns out it was the wrong size -- dramatically too small.

    I got a DairyFairy (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4bQOuCFMYw) Arden bra. (https://www.thedairyfairy.com)

I've had it a week now. I. Love. It.

It's a nursing & hands-free pumping bra in one. It's just been perfect for nursing and pumping. I also feel it's kinda sexy, which none of my other nursing bras have had going for them.

    Highly recommend it!

Wow that looks so low cut! I feel like I would fall out of that. I'm usually a full coverage girl. ;)
  • I have three elomi bras that I like.  They have underwire though.

@bribbon‌ - It is very adjustable!

    I'm a 36E and wearing a L.
    * The back has 6 rows of clasps, whereas typical bras have three. Took a couple days to get used to.
    * The cups crisscross across and each side has five spots to hook into to adjust tightness. I like that I can customize the fit of each cup, since they're sometimes different sizes.
    * Its surprisingly supportive. And not as low as it looks
    * DH complained at first of side boob, but I think that's gone away since I figured out the fit better.

I want more! I'll prob get another soon. Since I extended BF, I can get my money's worth from it.

And yes, @megash113‌ , the name is corny!

  • I have two dairy fairy bras and I like the convenience but do dind them low cut. I'm a 36d/dd and got a medium. I think I could have done a large.
I hope to create a real siggy but first I need some sleep!

    Mom to Lily and Colin!
  • I love my Anita nursing bra! It is an underwire but it is so comfortable! I'm usually a molded cup girl but it has soft cups and it's the best bra I've ever worn! I wear a 38E. I don't know if this is accurate but I read somewhere that once your milk supply is regulated a properly fitted wired bra is perfectly fine. The lactation consultant I talked to when DD was born told me to avoid them for the first two weeks but ok'd it after that.

I'm also an Anita fan, but mine is also underwire.  FTR, I wore the same bra (2 of the same style) for 14 months nursing last time, and 3 months so far this time, and no mastitis.  Like PP said, I think it's about the fit.  Mine is like a 38F?

Ditto. I was wearing target brand and I hated them. I love my soma. I wear underwire but they make ones without underwire if you prefer.

I'm sorry I didn't see your tag! I'm glad you went. I've worn mine a week, and they're actually better than I thought. I might never go back to my other "good" ones.
