February 2013 Moms

How many more hours...

Until bedtime?! This mama is exhausted. It was raining all day, so the kids have been cooped inside. And E has a cold with a gunky nose so we couldn't even go to any of the indoor play areas.

I'm. Ready. For. Bed.

And chocolate ice cream. But I don't want to share.

Less than two hours to go here.  DH came home and ate and then left me to go help his dad with something.  :((

DS2 has a fever, the baby is a fussbucket, and the other two have cabin fever and are tearing down the walls because they want to go to the playground and I can't leave the house with a feverish boy.  I just threw in a movie and have my fingers crossed that it will keep them quiet until the bedtime rush.  DH better be home to help me with bedtime because I'm pretty sure I'm going to lose it tonight.

ETA:  This post just inspired me to lube up with a glass of wine just in case DH doesn't make it home.  I'm much more patient after a glass or two.

  • An hour and 15 minutes... And dd1 is hip hop dancing in my living room— which means she is jumping and kicking looking like an epileptic on crack as she dances. I think she's going to break something soon!

E is trying to scale the back of the couch and stand in the window. He still thinks my belly is just a trampoline, so he's trying to gain leverage off me.

And DH is sleeping. He went in to work at 1:30 am, and is going that early again tonight, working crazy overtime this week.

  • Well, at least you can feel good about not taking your sick-ish kid out.  We went to an indoor play place a couple weeks ago and this terrible mother brought her approximately 12 month old who had thick yellow snot pouring out of this nose.  She sets him next to M and then goes off the visit with her friends, without so much as a nod to me, who is now pretty much supervising her kid.  Snot-baby had snot all over his hands and was touching everything...and then M touched it...I finally carried her away, but it was apparently too late, because she had a runny nose+weird rash all last week.  Boo!
  • @brachysira‌ That's so gross! You're right. And I can take comfort that even if I was forced to take him out somewhere, his snot is clear and looks more like allergies. I actually can't decide if this is left over allergies from Sunday/Monday's attack, or if it is indeed a cold!

  • @verovladamir That is exactly the type of day I've had! I actually couldn't take it one second longer so I put the kids to be d 30 minutes longer. That was amazing!!!!

Until E woke himself coughing and started crying. :'( Then C started whining and complaining to him to be quite, and E started crying harder... and I had to go get him out of bed, bring him down to calm down with me and chill out for another TWO FREAKING HOURS.

Luckily, they're both out now, I've gotten my work finished, I made my deadline and I found out I have two more assignments waiting for me! My DH will be thrilled that I'm raking in the moolah this month! lol  Even more, my house is SILENT. <3<3<3
