Formal event hair

I suck at doing my hair.

I just tried and failed to do a sock bun. It was bad.

This is somewhat better but it's frizzy and nowhere near perfect.

I'm going to a dinner for the graduating residents tonight. This okay? Do something else? If somethjng else, what? Keep in mind my limits are pony tails and frizzy braids.

  • Excuse my awkward face.

    I did this-https://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/originals/d4/ce/aa/d4ceaa6849ab4063544dceaf0bbe335b.jpg

Didn't come out the way I intended, but I'm semi pleased other than the frizz.

IMO It looks too sloppy.    Can you curl it first?  If you do loose curls, then put it up again it will look smoother and not so frizzy.

Curl, put in pony, pin curls into a curly bun.  That is the easiest formal hairdo to do on yourself.

I've never been able to get my hair to hold a curl.

I mean, I really really fail at getting shit done with my hair.

I just looked at the tutorial.  How long is your hair?  I think you need to do it lower on you nape, and also what was said above about the 3 braids.

I do something similar to that with my hair a lot, but I do one braid on the side very low.  My hair is very fine so it wouldn't be full enough to pull off the 3 braids in the back, so the side braid works better.

  • When I am at a loss, I flat iron my hair super straight and add a sparkly barrette-- something like this (this isn't me BTW)

  • One of my friends does a French braid and tucks the end under for a simple, nice look. Would that work with your hair? Do you have a salon nearby that could do something simple for you?

Maybe a blow out with a side part and cute sparkly bobby pins?

This is what I usually do. It's super easy if you know how to french braid.
