Success after IF

Pillow Pets?

The nanny bought E a pillow pet. She is absolutely obsessed with it! She takes it everywhere she goes, she talks to it, she rocks it, and she is insisting on having it in her crib.

E is 22 months, and has been using a pillow and blanket and a small teddy bear in her crib for the last 6 months.

Is having the pillow pet in there with her safe? It's bigger and fluffier than her current pillow and teddy bear are. What do you think?

Re: Pillow Pets?

  • As long as it doesn't have anything that could come off (like eyes), I think it's okay. We only ever use a light blanket, but I figure kids are in toddler beds with full bedding at this point, so I think stuffed animals are fair game.

  • Well, Maren has a pillow pet along with about 15 other stuffies so clearly I don't have an issue with it.  I think once they're old enough to move - roll over, sit up, stand up, etc. things like stuffed animals and blankets aren't unsafe.

    She sounds adorable with it.

Just some mom to mom advice - if she ends up really, really, loving it, buy a second one to have as an emergency back-up!

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

    This Cluttered Life

  • Totally fine in my book! DS has a couple of pillow pets and use one for a pillow and one to cuddle and has been for a while now.

  • DS uses a pillow pet as his pillow. He actually became obsessed with and "stole" mine. I can see why he loves it so much! Those things are comfy! I got a replacement for myself. ;)

THIS! I literally own 8 Angel Dears because DS really depends on them at night for comfort and those things have to get washed every few days! When we move back home in a few days, I'm taking 4 for the plane- b/c somehow they always get dropped on the floor of the airplane bathroom!
