Pregnant after a Loss

**Wednesday Ticker Change**

Happy Wednesday ladies!!  I hope you are all doing well today.  The wedding went well despite some drama over me being able to sit down if needed during the ceremony.  The actual wedding day was pleasant, though, and I even danced a bit.  I got to see my parents and all of my extended in-law family which was great.  I am lucky that I like DH's whole family except for his sister (and she has her nice moments to be fair).  We also announced the sex at breakfast on Sunday.  Good times.

One more week down and that much closer to meeting our sweet LO's!

Just a reminder that this is a weekly check-in for those of us who start a new week of pregnancy today. If you are new, please feel free to jump in, give us your EDD, and welcome!

How far along are you?

How are you feeling? Symptoms?

Any appointments coming up? Anything you need T&P for?

GTKY:  As I've gotten older, I have found that I like pie more than cake.  Which do you prefer and what is your favorite kind?

And, a treat for you all!

  • How far along are you?

    15 weeks! Woohoo!

    How are you feeling? Symptoms?

Still battling the evening nausea, but I think I'm managing to eat more than I was. Hopefully at my appt. I will have gained some weight.

Any appointments coming up? Anything you need T&P for?

My next appt. is next Monday. It's just a routine visit. I had a scare a couple days ago when I fell down the stairs. Thankfully, my OB got me in ASAP for a scan and LO was great! Just hanging out and sucking his/her thumb! Talk about relief! And bonus- tech thinks LO is a boy.

GTKY: As I've gotten older, I have found that I like pie more than cake. Which do you prefer and what is your favorite kind?

Don't know if this counts, but in the summer I love blackberry cobbler with ice cream.

    18 weeks! ☺️
    How are you feeling? Symptoms?
I am experiencing backaches and our little boy likes to sit low so I get pressure on my lady bits. It's not fun lol. I also finally starting to feel him move and kick now! I am loving every moment of it. :D
Any appointments coming up? Anything you need T&P for?
I have a follow up scan Friday the 20th to get some of Ryley's measurements that they could get. I am looking forward to seeing him again and I asked my mom to go with me. I know she will love to see him on the screen. It was my husband's idea for her to go since he went with me last week.

GTKY: As I've gotten older, I have found that I like pie more than cake. Which do you prefer and what is your favorite kind?

I love cake! My favorite is chocolate cake with vanilla icing!

@mmheartspb I'm sorry you are not feeling great.  Have you found anything to help with any of your symptoms?   Being nervous on top of all of that sucks.  I'll be thinking of you and looking for a great update when you go for your doppler check!  I've never had strawberry pie, surprisingly.  I'll have to try it!

@belle3184 I'm so happy you're able to eat more now!  Hopefully the evening m/s will go away soon.  Falling down the stairs sounds terrifying, but I'm glad you and LO are ok!  And how exciting that the tech thinks boy!!  Cobbler totally counts, btw.  One of my favorite recipes is for blackberry cobbler and I could eat the whole thing by myself.  SO yummy!!

Thanks for the check in, @classicstar28‌!

How far along are you? 25 weeks!

How are you feeling? Symptoms? Dealing with a lot of sciatica pain. I was referred to another doctor for it and have been dragging my feet about making an appointment.
And my belly is approaching too big for my workstation.

Any appointments coming up? Anything you need T&P for? OB today. Should be scheduling GTT and discussing my cankles...fun things like that

GTKY: As I've gotten older, I have found that I like pie more than cake. Which do you prefer and what is your favorite kind?

Mmmm give me all the apple pie, chocolate cream pie, and coconut cream pie. Unless we're including ice cream cake in the types of cake. Then I want all of the above.

Hi Ladies!  Thanks for running this @classicstar28!

@mmheartspb - I hope your appointment next Monday goes really well.  I'm sorry you're nervous for it.  Sending you lots and lots of ((((hugs)))).
@Belle3184 - Whooo 15 weeks!  I'm so glad your OB got you in for an u/s to check on LO - how scary!!!  Also, blueberry cobbler totally counts, it maybe counts double because it comes with icecream.@whiteroses05 - Sorry your little man is causing your lady bits a bit of discomfort, maybe he'll get bored down there and move further North?  Yay for feeling him move and kick!!@AnyMax - I was stalking your fruit ticker earlier today (whatever - I'm not at all creepy) and you're almost in the DOUBLE DIGITS for the countdown to meet your little girl!!!  EEEEE!!  We should celebrate by eating some chocolate creme pie, no?

    How far along are you?
14 weeks!!!  Baby is the size of a lemon. ETA: YAY second trimester!!

How are you feeling? Symptoms?  Sassy.  But I don't think that has anything to do with being pregnant other than I'm just feeling more like myself, which is great.

Any appointments coming up? Anything you need T&P for? No appointments for another week and a half with my OBGYN, however, I have scheduled to meet with two midwifery practices where I live to meet some of the midwives and possibly tour the birthing centers.  My H and I are in the process of gathering information on birthing options.  I will need to choose whatever I feel most comfortable with and it would take quite a bit for me to feel confident leaving my OBGYN, but I am open to options.  I would like a natural birth, with options available to me on HOW I birth which is why I'm really interested to meet with them and discuss further.  We'll see.  I'll let you ladies know how it goes.

GTKY:  As I've gotten older, I have found that I like pie more than cake.  Which do you prefer and what is your favorite kind?
I am more picky about the cake I like than I am about the pie I like.  Especially when it comes to the frosting.  If it tastes too sugary and there's waaayyy too much of it, I don't like it.  When it comes to pies I'm easily pleased with crusts and such but there are filling types I won't ever get excited about: cherry, pumpkin (I know, I'm secretly an alien life form, not of this world >-) ), etc.  My favorite cake is chocolate and my favorite pie is blueberry. I would trade both pie and cake in for brownies, though, those are my weakness!!!!

  • @whiteroses05 I'm sorry your LO is putting so much pressure on your lady parts.  Lilly has started kicking my cervix which is pretty uncomfortable!  BUT feeling them is SUPER cool!!!  I'm so happy that you're feeling him now!  It's cool that your mom is going to get to come to your follow up scan.  I bet she'll enjoy seeing your LO!

@AnyMax Sorry about the sciatica.  That sounds painful.  Hopefully the new doctor can help relieve the pain.  Yay fun OB things.  Not excited about those things either.  But yay 25 weeks!  Ice cream cake...I think that is definitely a kind of cake.  I agree.  I want all of it.  Now.

@Carlsonbaby2014 YAY 2nd TRI!!!  So exciting!!!!  I'm glad that you are feeling like yourself and being sassy!  I hope your meetings with the midwives goes well and you can make a choice that you are happy and comfortable with.  Mmmm... Brownies!

@RN536 Glad you are feeling good and that you're able to check on LO with the doppler.  That would be awesome to graduate from going every 2 weeks to every 4 weeks!

How far along are you? 22 weeks

How are you feeling? Symptoms?  Feeling about the same as I have been.  Still feeling dizzy now and then, but it seems to be heat related.  I'll have to keep that in mind when we are driving back to Texas next week.  Been a lot less anxious, too.  Little girl is kicking me pretty consistently now and I feel her at least once a day.  Sometimes it gets uncomfortable as she's getting stronger.

Any appointments coming up? Anything you need T&P for?  I actually had an appointment this morning.  Everything looked good and they eased my concerns about PTL and IC.  I know that I will continue to worry, but at least I'm getting better at letting my fears go and enjoying being pregnant.

I didn't really say much about this beforehand, mostly because I didn't think it would bother me so much, but my EDD for my first pregnancy was yesterday.  Over the weekend I had a really hard time with that.  I honestly didn't feel so sad yesterday, just at the wedding.  I think it was because I had imagined myself being 9 months pregnant and ready to meet our LO when my SIL got married.  I think it would have been harder if I wasn't pregnant now, but I still ended up crying thinking about it at the reception.  Anyway, I just thought I'd share.

GTKY:  As I've gotten older, I have found that I like pie more than cake.  Which do you prefer and what is your favorite kind?
As I stated in the question, I prefer pie over cake now.  BUT I still love cake, too.  My favorite pie is probably apple, but I really love any fruit pies.  Cherry, mixed berry, peach... I also love pecan or, even better, chocolate pecan.  I will eat cream pies, but I'm not really a fan.  Is cheesecake a pie?  I love that too.  Cakewise, I am with @whiteroses05.  Chocolate cake with vanilla frosting is the best.  But, like pie, I'll basically eat any cake that is put in front of me except for tres leches.
