My mom kept trying to give LO a French fry today at lunch. I kept telling her no but she tried a few times. What has your LO grandparents tried to give your LO?
My MIL tried to give him a sip of her Dr. Pepper. My dad tried to give him a donut hole. My mom tried to give him Mac and cheese. Everyone tries to give him little tastes of cookies, frosting, sugar. SSSTTAAHHPPP.
Team "a tiny taste of really anything short of alcohol, honey or possibly soda, once in a while at a party is not going to harm my child".
Same. DD has had French fries, Mac and cheese, tastes of ice cream, frosting etc. my only rule is no honey, no soda, and no cows milk to drink (and alcohol, of course) Otherwise what is the big deal? #noreallyiwanttoknow
Edit: all other times she's eating veggies, fruit, pasta, yogurt etc -- so indulging her hasn't caused her to dislike healthy foods
I had a friends Mom give her a frosted cookie and try to shove frosting in her mouth, those were taken away. MIL and FIL have given her whip cream FIL asked about caffeine fee diet coke. I shut that down really quick. In all honesty I'm pretty open. The other day I had 4 cheese macaroni at Applebee's I gave her tiny bites of pasta. I also gave her tint bites of my bread sticks. I even gave her a taste of my ice cream come once ::gasps::

Your edit is what I'm afraid of...my FI little brother has the. worst. eating habits (and I also eat like a 5 year old) so I'm afraid she will too. I probably need to loosen up about that, because I know a taste really won't ruin her life....
SMIL gave her a bit of diet Pepsi from her straw. It was a battle I could not fight at the moment since she's already on my shit list for other things. Her daughter was eating an entire happy meal at 6 months. I just told my husband that's probably what led to her gastric bypass. I will share almost any food with dd, but in moderation.
I try to steer clear of super sugary treats like frosting and soda, mainly bc I think that sugar rush would hurt her little tummy, but I'm Team Throw Any and All Food at Her So We Have A Shot At A Nice Quiet Dinner. So she's had mac and cheese, bread sticks, French fries. I was much more rigid with my first kid, but her "meals" are purées veg and fruits and most of what we eat is made from scratch, anyway.
My mom is obsessed with feeding her cheerios. It's like it's the only finger food on the entire planet. Personally, I'm not a fan of them but I know there are far worse things out there. Like sugar. Which my MIL tries feeding her every chance she gets. When she was 6 months old, I walked downstairs to find her adding it to her baby cereal
What the hell would ever make someone put sugar in baby cereal! OMG I would have freaked!
My parents gave her fake, mashed potatoes, like the kind from the tub. DH and I are kind of clean eating freaks and this was when LO had just started solids. I was so pissed. Everyone's always giving us a hard time for not giving her frozen yogurt and other sugary things like that but we are pretty rigid in what we allow. I figure if she loves her veggies, lentils, quinoa and fruit etc why mess with a good thing
Her grandma on her dad's side tried to give DD a cheezy this weekend. When I said no, she whispered, "if mom wasn't here, Nana would give you a cheezy to suck on." I guess that's why I will never leave her with you, lady.
I also had to physically remove the cupcake tray from the table so she "wouldn't be so tempted to give her a taste of frosting."
My mom watches Oliver and makes cookies every single day. I've lost count of the times I've told her he can't have a cookie, but the other day she said, "yeah but maybe some dough?" Ummmm NO.
My stepmom tried to give DS cake and frosting at his baptism. Nope, nope, nope! She and FMIL stood there and argued about it with me for almost ten minutes in front of all the other guests. Sooo awkward, and infuriating! If he has an allergic reaction and has to go to the hospital I am certainly not prepared to be responsible for telling that doctor I gave him cake at 7 months. Not a chance.

My Hubs grandmother was appalled and offended that I would not give DS bites of her butterscotch pie the other night. She was talking to me like I was a control freak mom since I would not let my seven month old eat pie and on top of that at 8 pm. By the time the night was over, I wanted to shove that pie up her ass.
My brother gave LO a taste of his Slurpee at around 5 months old. My parents ask before they let him try anything, most of the time. I'm pretty open about it, other than the foods and drinks that PP have mentioned.
MIL tried giving him a pudding/oreo dessert and H had to tell her to stop.

Butterscotch pie. #Ineeddis #noIdont
If you were there, I would have let you have DS' s piece.
Ice cream, cake, icing, crusty bread, butter, whatever is on her plate
What's wrong with crusty bread? Everything else is crazy but crusty bread? That was one of DS's first foods...

Sorry, I post and ran. It was one of those ends of a an Italian bread with all the sharp flakes, not sure if this is making sense. DD sucks at sucking on things and just bites without teeth so I didn't want her hurting her gums. Could be ridiculous...not sure
I see where you're coming from now but I honestly wouldn't worry about her cutting herself. These LOs have so much saliva that even sharp crusty bread is no match

MIL jokingly offered her popsicle when she was about 3 months, but DD lunged at it and almost got some.
My mom and Gma gave her a rib bone to gnaw on, but I made them make sure there wasn't anything on it. They swear it's good for teething. DD loved it.
Her uncle tried feeding her pizza. He's 21 and I explained to him why not to... but really I just don't want to share my pizza lol

All amounts of food have been minuscule.
Nothing, I guess. I just never thought to give butter to my kids this young. You're right, though, nothing wrong with butter.
