I've tried to go paperless for all bills and tried to stop all catalogs so our incoming mail is manageable. I also go straight to recycling bin when I get the mail so only important stuff comes in the house.

This is us too! I sort /throw away junk right away and anything that needs to be paid I put on the coffee table by my laptop to be paid next time I am I the area. I schedule all my payments online through my bank's bill pay so I do it while watching tv or something
I have a spot on the counter for dhs mail and I make him deal with it right before dinner everyday. I toss junk immediately. I write checks right away and mail stuff out and put coupons in my coupon organizer right away. I don't store stuff.
