Our pediatrician keeps telling me that my son is obese. He's 13 mo, 32" and 32lbs. Idk what to do to help him lose or maintain weight. He doesn't eat a lot of snacks and drinks whole milk (5oz about 4 times a day). Any advice??
Are you asking if we think you should put your 13 month old on a diet? I am not sure I would consider 32lbs at that height obese. Feed your kid a healthy diet and he will be ok. Maybe get a new pedi too.
He's walking and running all over the place. He eats lots of fruit and veggies and I don't give him juice. I will try to cut out one bottle though. Thanks. (:
The rec is at least 16oz of milk a day so I wouldnt go under that. You also shouldnt restrict calories or dietary fats from kids under 2. I would have another conversation with your pedi.
Re: Weight gain
My 3 year old niece weighs 32 pounds so it does seem high but he is tall and that matters.
I would probably start with a second opinion before a diet. Nutrition is way too important at this stage to cut things out IMO.
