Q had his 1 year check up today. Melon? Large. Height? Not as short as we feared (35th %). Weight? SKINNY (18 pounds - 6th % and he actually lost half a pound from being sick). Overall healthy and on his curve but we did get an epi pen prescription and a referral to an allergist for a suspected nut allergy. The only mildly concerning thing is that his iron was a hair below "low normal." We're going to start giving the drops but I'd love to boost his iron intake with food as well but the iron rich foods aren't things that are easy to get into him - meats and dark leafy greens. Has anyone found any good tricks...smoothie recipes or other inventive ways of sneaking iron rich foods in?

Re: Anyone dealing with low iron?
elmo, Tyler loves steak. I know that's not saying much, because Tyler loves everything, but even if Q just sucks on it I've heard that it's good. How does he feel about beans? Ty likes to pick them up individually...hmm...o and I put spinach in everything, sauté it and put it in turkey burgers or meatballs.
