First Ultrasound XP

Was a mixed day. I was expecting to see the heartbeat based on how far along we assumed I was cuz of LMP, BUT my cycles are all over the place. So based on the day I know we conceived (when there is like a 4-5 day window between when you had sex on either side you kinda know lol) I'm actually only about 5 weeks 6 days pregnant.

So the ultrasound tech "thinks" she sees the heart beating but she couldn't say for sure. Everything else was right where it should be, gestational sac, yolk sac, even a tiny embro measuring 2mm. So I have to go back next Tuesday for another one. And we "have" to see the heartbeat the doctor said to make sure everything is healthy. I really wanted today to be my big "relief" day, but it's not and that kinda sucks. I'm like 99% certain everything is fine, being not as far along explains why my first beta was only 80, why the pee stick was so faint, and I already feel nauseous, and exhausted. But man seeing that heartbeat is such a big deal. B/C I have PCOS and such a high miscarriage rate seeing a heartbeat means my odds drop to like 5% instead of the 50%. So ya, that's whats going on.

I'm sorry your disappointed and I understand the importance of seeing the heartbeat. We are ultrasound buddies

I go in for mine next Tuesday, too. Because my betas have been so wonky I'm terrified we won't see the heartbeat. Fx this next week flies by for you and you see the heartbeat and it puts your mind at ease

Hugs R. I know seeing that hb would have been a huge relief. But it's still really early. I posted this same post after my first u/s with P. Everything sounds like it's right on track though. Sending lots of T&P your way that you see the hb next week.
Also, I can't believe you're 5w, the past few weeks have gone sooo slowly!

Awe hugs. That couldnt have been easy today. Everything else looked good and its still early to see the heartbeat if you are 5 weeks 6 days. Next week Im sure you will see a strong beating heart.

I'm sorry that you were disappointed, but the fact that everything seems on track is promising too. I get how you feel though - our first u/s with this LO was the same at 5w5d. Hoping that Tuesday comes quickly!!
