How much WCM is your LO getting?

My pedi said last week to max her out at 16 ounces. Her bedtime bottle alone is 9-10 ounces (won't take less than that), and not to mention needs a bottle when she naps, and sometimes a few ounces in the MOTN. She's probably getting closer to 24 ounces, and also 3, nice sized meals (plus a snack). She eats a lot, but she's really active and has stayed around the 50-60th percentile. Anybody else on the same boat? How many ounces is your LO getting as of right now? Can someone justify on as to why I would want to cut her milk intake, if she's gaining the appropriate weight?

    20-24 ounces

ETA: I believe our pediatrician told us 16-24 ounces, but I need to double check at our appointment this week.

This. We went in for our one year check up on the 3rd and this is what I was told to give her.

  • We've been giving DD about... 16 - 24 ounces but it really depends on the day. She'll have a bottle in the morning when she first wakes up, around 5 or 6 and then one before bed at night. Sometimes if she's being really fussy before her nap she'll have another but usually she goes down without it. I don't feel as though I need to give her more than that because we eat a lot of other dairy foods during the day like yogurt and cheese.

  • As PP said 16 oz is the MINIMUM oz per day, 24 oz is the maximum.

We were at 24 ounces and are trying to cut it down a little bit and replace it with more solids.

  • I had one pediatrician tell me max 16 oz and another said 24 oz. I think it has to do with iron absorption. WCM affects that if they have too much.

Note, I'm not a dr, but that is what a dr told me.

  • 12 oz at daycare. I still breastfeeding morning and before bed.

  • We haven't had her one year appt, but DD still nurses twice a day and gets two bottles of 5-6 ounces of WCM. She also has three meals a day plus a snack or two.

I'm visiting a friend who told me her pedi said minimum of 8 ounces, but that seems wrong to me.

Haven't had our 1 year appt yet so not sure of amounts, but they can get too much cows milk. Like @numbersgirl08‌ said, it blocks iron absorption.
  • We still do three 7oz bottles with 4oz WCM and 3oz of formula until we run out. So 12oz as of now, he will not drink milk from his sippy but I will work with him more on it when he feels better.
We had out 1 year app today and my pedi said 16-24oz.

  • I watered down her night bottle last night to see if she'd be OK with it, and she was fine, so I'll continue to do that. Pedi also suggested to get an iron supplement and hide it in her juice during the day, so that's what i'll do. Thank you ladies!
