Ok to bottle feed in moving car?

We are driving to Nashville and it's an 8hr trip. Is it ok to give LO a bottle when he wakes and is hungry instead of stopping to feed? Then just save diapers and stretches for when we get gas?

    I was wondering the same thing as I have a 5 1/2 hour drive ahead of me on Friday, but I decided not to since my baby girl gags sometimes and I wouldn't be able to get her out quickly/safely if that happened. I would also need to burp her so she wouldn't get a gassy tummy, so I've just decided on stopping to feed.

    I did but only a small amount to hold her until we reached our destination. Both my girls need to be burped often or it doesnt stay down.

    Of course! There's no reason why you wouldn't... unless, I guess, if your LO is prone to gas since you won't be able to burp him afterwards. I breastfeed DS constantly while on the move in the car (it's a little tricky, but possible!) and I did the same with DD... no issues at all :)

    He usually burps a small burp once during a feed, but I think I will try it. We are breaking up the trip there to 4 hours over two days. Straight 8 on the way back. He can usually go 3-4 hrs sleeping in the car. We will see, thanks gals!

    We travelled 7 hours last weekend and dd actually stretched herself longer than usual. We only stopped once. I think because she sleeps way better in the car.

    Can you pump in the car to replace? I found that being the most difficult issue. Since she could stretch longer my boobs ached more. I had a car charger and could pump whenever.

    I did it! DS was just fine. He sometimes doesnt burp though so I am sure with a LO who needs to burp every time it would be tricky.

    Yup, done it a few times. The first time I was nervous about it and actually wondered if it was illegal (I've got the paranoid mom brain too @KendraColeslaw‌). Then I realized I was being dumb and did it while stuck in LA traffic. If LO looked like he was drinking too fast and sucking in air I just took out the bottle for a second and let him re-latch. No problem. I actually think the semi upright position in the carseat helps prevent the build up of belly gas...

    Did it today. LO was hungry and we were 40 min from home, so my 9 year old sat next to her and gave her a bottle. She had a mansized belch when i got her out, but otherwise all was good.

    This!!! All I could think was you either have snake boobs or live in a place with very lax seat belt laws...
    Driving in New Hampshire baby! But yes leaning one side over
    nurse free or die!!

    but seriously, a big ditto to everything above.  it is a very physically uncomfortable position to be in, but i have done it twice so far with tessa and countless times with kiddo (it was easier then with only one car seat in the back!)
