Treat milk blister?

Anyone get one and have recommendations for how to get rid of it? I have had one for at least a week and it's killing me! Especially when the pain keeps me awake at night (like right now). It's unbearable.

  • I popped mine and was pain-free a few days later.
  • I've tried everything on kellymom already without success. I've also tried removing it with my fingernail after a long shower and after soaking my breast in a bowl of water and still can't get it. It's so painful and frustrating. Thanks to the mommas who have replied despite my lurker status. I appreciate it.

  • A friend of mine had one and she had to pop it also. Yikes. Sounds very painful. I wish you quick relief!
  • I rubbed some breast milk on mine and it shrunk on its own.
  • Ugh I had one of those early on. You need to lift up the top and massage the milk that was stuck behind it. I soaked my breasts in a tub of hot water and massaged it under water to help the milk flow out. Get rid of scab tissue that's blocking milk from getting out of your nipple. I was scared to do that bc I thought it was healing BUT when I got off scab tissue it got much better. Good luck!

I had a horrible one that caused a serious duct block.  LO nursed and finally opened it.  I felt so bad when it sprayed him in the face though :(

Had that not worked, I would have popped it with a sterile pin (read that was ok).
  • I had a horrible one on my areola and I popped it with a sterile straight pin and then squeezed it until blockage came out- felt much better that evening! Can't believe you've lasted a week! I woke up with it and popped it a few hours later because the pain and clogged duct was unbearable! Good luck!
