LO will be 7 weeks Monday and really no social smiles yet. Anyone else? Seeing all these smiley baby pics has me jealous and a little concerned. Shouldn't he be doing this now? Plus I need some smiles before I go back to work in a week:(
My DD hasn't smile intentionally yet either and she turned 7 weeks yesterday. Just be patient. Every baby is different. DD may not be smiling but she does other things that she shouldn't be doing yet so I just figure that everything happens when it is supposed to. If you are really concerned though you can always ask your pediatrician.
Dd just gave me the first real smile this morning at 6 weeks. But she hasn't been doing it much since that once. I'm not worried, every baby is different.
DS started smiling a few days ago, but DD was a completely different story. The first time she smiled on purpose she was 6.5 months!! But now she's the most smiley, hilarious kid ever, so I guess she just took her time
this is likely the week it will happen for you! it's SO HARD to wait for them... i know! both of my kids smiled for the first time around 6.5 weeks, and most babies are smiling by 2 months old, so just hang on a few more days... it's coming!
My baby will be 8 weeks tomorrow and we just got his first social smiles yesterday at 7w5d. Babies develop at different rates. Somethings your baby will do early, some will be on time, some might be a little late.

Seven weeks on Thursday and no smiles except in her sleep. Both DH and I *think* we may have gotten a quick flash, but it was too fast for me to really call it. I want the big "Mommy I love you!" face-splitting grin!

No smiles til 7 weeks here either. I was getting extra worried because she didn't like making eye contact either. That all changed though. Don't worry yet!
