It's my due date. Going in for a 40 week appointment at 12:00 pst. I'm incredibly emotional today and I want to throw up. The nurse told me to come prepared to be sent to the hospital, I don't know if she was being overly encouraging or if I really should be prepared. Either way, I have loads of anxiety.
I just left my 39 week appointment. I'm 1 cm and 70% effaced. My OB offered to sweep my membrane, but I declined. Those 1 in 8 odds didn't sound too appealing to me. Hopefully, that was a good call and baby girl will come later this week.

@ricecakes1216 - Hang in there. That anxiety hit me last night. You can do this! We can do this! It sure as shit isn't going to be easy, but these babies can't stay in our bellies forever! I'm going to be induced tomorrow morning. I'll race you to the finish line? )

I had a NST this morning. Heartbeat is good. Baby was moving like crazy. We are all go for an induction tomorrow morning at 7:45am. This time tomorrow I'm going to be in labor. Looking forward to the pain..... (

@crhein26 Thanks! I guess I've been living in denial that labor would actually happen and that I'll be responsible for another human.
Good luck tomorrow!
@ricecakes1216 - This is me 100%! I couldn't have said it better myself. Good luck at your appointment and keep us updated!
Im waiting for my 39 week appointment right now... Nothing was going on last week so I hope there is something to shown for this week.. *fingers crossed* if I dont deliver by next Tuesday (my due date being Sunday) I will get an induction date.
@crhein26- You're going to be a rock star tomorrow!
MollySm- From what I've read of the other ladies on this board who have had membrane sweeps, they only work for about 1 in 8 women. Some ladies (I wish I remembered who) mentioned having it done more than once. Plus, you get a fair amount of bleeding after the procedure.
Although I'm ready to give birth, the procedure was a little more than I was willing to give today. I'm not due until Saturday. Maybe LO will make an appearence on her own.
Just got back dr is worried about pre-e so I got a blood draw as well as I get to do a 24 hr pee catch. Hopefully everything comes back normal. Kinda freaking out but.. I don't have to work tonight so I guess that's a bonus.
Had my 41 week (blah!) apt this a.m along with NST. Everything with baby and I is fine. I'm still at 3 cm and soft, but cervix "thick". Had another membrane sweep and scheduled induction for next week Monday a.m. (41w + 6 days). Clearly hoping I will go into labor spontaneously prior to that.
Had 39 week appt this morning. 1.5cm/50% and "ready" he said. He wouldn't strip me (i'm guessing it would have resulted in after hours delivery. Waiting on a call back for induction date (thurs vs monday).
Lynnja616- What happened to not going 10 days beyond an EDD? Wow! I didn't know it was possible.
My OBs will let me go until 42 weeks so long as baby and I are doing well. I was given the choice today to schedule for this week Fri or Sat, or Monday. I chose Monday because I would REALLY prefer to go into labor spontaneously (I've done it both ways- DS was induced and DD came on her own).
Doctor said last week I only needed the NSt but this morning they said I was also on the schedule for an ultrasound. Not like I have an extra $300 to spare but I was expected to get a weight and size estimate (95th percentile and 8.5 pounds if anyone is interested. I am HUGE so if she comes out tiny like her brother I will be pissy, LOL.)
As is customary, baby wouldn't cooperate during the NST. Since it was my last one of the pregnancy, in addition to apple juice they brought me chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate cover marshmallows and some nice, salty crackers. Hurray for NSTs when someone is having a birthday in the office!
Weekly OB appt in about an hour. I should get my GBS results and see if anything's going on yet. I was "unfavorable" last week so I'd love to hear of some progress this time!
GL to everyone else with appts today and to those with inductions around the corner!
Absolutely nothing is happening haha. She said she will see me back on Tuesday (I will be 40+2) and she doesn't expect to have any changes then either. and so then we would set a time for an induction for June 22nd. Mmmhmmmm June babies = they come way too early or they stay way too late!! Haha. Good news I am GBS negative! Woo!
@sarahgene61887 I'm sorry you had to deal with such a horrible OB! I'm glad the rest of the docs/midwives in your practice are more understanding of your wishes. Ugh, what a twatwaffle though.
40 week checkup today she did a membrane sweep and no pain blood or even a cramp. Scheduled reg apt for next mon where they will schedule induction if bb hasn't made an appearance. Good luck to all of you ladies being induced this week!
My weekly appt. went well. GBS test came back negative, baby sounds and measures good, and I am 1cm dilated which is a very small improvement from last week when I was "closed up tight", but LO is still up high so we probably won't be meeting her for a while, yet. I know 1cm doesn't mean anything, but it still felt good to see some progress, no matter how small.
My OB said they won't start talking induction until I am 40 weeks and would prefer I make it to 41, which is fine with me - I really don't want to be induced if I can avoid it.
Long story short: I'm having a c section tomorrow. Baby is huge and not in a good position. Two doctors and a PA all agree that this is the safest route.
I'll have a baby tomorrow. Holy crap!
The long story:
My appointment was eventful today. While we were driving over, the doctors office called asking if I could see the PA that works closely with my doc as he had gotten backed up. Sure why not. (I loved her, BTW. She was so thorough in her explanation and really made me feel at ease.) She wanted to send me over to the hospital but they were full. After consulting with a doc she sent me for a stress test, then I saw another doc to go over everything (still not my doc) he was very happy with the baby on the NST, but not happy with his position. We talked a lot about induction and c section. He felt that the baby will not be changing position to be able to fit through the birth canal (kid is huge). His head is down but on the wrong side of the pelvic bone, he'd have to back up and then come back down. There was a technical term, I can't remember. I was given the option to try for a vaginal delivery or go straight to a c section. Then my doctor finally came in. We talked more. He had the same opinion as the other doc and then the PA came in. She shared her experience and agreed again with the two doctors. Basically they all said that they would be happy to start an induction, let me labor up to two days, but I'd most likely move to an emergency c section. That would cause a lot more trauma to my body and potentially the baby. So H and I agreed, we are having a c section at 12:30 tomorrow. I cried, but it's what my gut is telling me is the best for both baby and me. My doctor reassured me that the potential for a VBAC down the road is high, so there's that. I can't eat after midnight tonight so I plan on eating all the food between now and then!
My OB seems rather discontent with the amount of BH/cramping/contractions I've been having apparently. He keeps telling me to walk all day, keep cool etc. I'm 38w3d and while I want this LO to come already, if he isn't ready then he is not ready. I'm rather frustrated with being made to feel bad because I'm "only" having X number of contractions a day and it won't be enough to move things along.
Next week he'll do a cervical check (wouldn't do it this week because he says my contractions aren't close enough together to have done anything. I rolled my eyes) and we will talk induction. He said he doesn't want me going any farther that 41weeks because it "isn't safe" but wouldn't explain why he thought that and that he'll start it as early at 40 weeks on the dot if I'm interested. DH thinks induction is a great idea ("then baby won't have to share a birthday with me and I won't be at work having to worry about driving home/finishing up my work/ blah blah blah) and I think I'd rather let nature take it's course.
My appointment turned into a birth story! With 10 days before my RCS my ultrasound revealed a super low amniotic fluid level. And to think I insisted on going alone today with 5% battery!
Thanks @ricecakes1216, @lest12 & @ugabamafans! I definitely appreciated waking up to the encouragement. My stomach is all nerves this morning. I could potentially have a squishy today!

Just left me 40 week appointment. Due date is tomorrow and I'm still 1 cm, which is where I've been for the past three weeks. I know it doesn't mean much but I was hoping for a little more progress. OB did say LO is really low and he had trouble finding my cervix. Scheduled my 41 weeks appointment and was told we would do a stress test and fluid check next week. Praying I have this baby before then!
Re: Tuesday Appointments
BPP scheduled for Friday to check fluid though I'm sure there's plenty since baby keeps rotating in there.
OB said I wouldn't make it a week but I don't want to get my hopes up. DD was born at 39w exactly so hoping it's soon.
