I'm always out of ideas for what to get my dad for his birthday. I usually resort to something revolving around cooking- food from omaha steaks, spices from penzey's spices, sauces from williams sonoma. Anyone have any other suggestions? I feel like he doesn't appreciate high quality in alcohol, and it's something I need to be able to ship easily. He had knee replacement surgery last year, so is less athletic than he used to be- most of his hobbies used to be exercise related. I could go clothes, but I'd be guessing a bit on sizes. Help?
Re: Help me shop: Dad's birthday?
He does like to read, but I never know what he's already read. Hmm, maybe a kitchen herb garden starter kit? I wish this aerogarden wasn't so expensive.

What about a monthly subscription to something? Like bacon, beer they even have desserts.
Yup! I did beer for DH last year for his birthday. It's not cheap but he LOVED it. I looked into the bacon one but with all the other crap I got him I wasn't spending that. I haven't used this specific company but here's a link:

I did use this one for DH for beer though and he was super pleased with it:
