Pregnant after 35

Panorama Test

Anyone happen to take this test? if so, wha was your experience? especially being 35 and over?

I am awaiting results which they say take 2 weeks but now i am hearing it could be longer. Just wondering if others know how long it took to get results.

Also, it sounds like it says "low risk" vs "high risk", but if you happen to get "high risk" does it give ratios? Anyone know?!

Any info someone can give me would be helpful.

and lots of prayers needed as I am terrified of the results after the dreaded NT screen

My results came back to the OB in ten days, but they didn't bother to tell me until a week after that. If it's been a while, just call the office and bug them.

There's a sample report somewhere on the panorama website that you can look at as an example. It tells you your risk level, like if it's low, and gives you odds, like less than 1 in 10,000 or 1 in 250.

  • I had Harmony not Panorama but I think it's pretty much the same. It took 2 weeks to get results and when they called, they said that results were normal, less than 1 in 10,000 chance of DS and other trisomies. I loved hearing that. We had a good NT scan result but I am of the mind that more reassurance IS better. My doc tried to talk me out of Harmony saying that 2 good results would not be any more reassuring than just one. Well I disagreed with her eapecially when the test is so easy and non invasive. Glad I stuck to my guns.
  • I got my results in a week. They just said everything looked great and it's a boy.

  • I did the panorama and received the results in exactly 10 business days. They didn't give me number stats, just said that my results were negative/extremely low. And I am having a girl :)

  • That's great! Just a heads up, you will most likely get a bill from natera (the company that runs the test). The bill is about $500 but you only have to pay $145.

I have an HMO and was ordered the test due to a high risk NT scan (and I am older), why do you think I will get a bill?

I guess I will find out

I've heard everyone gets the bill. I have an awesome PPO and the test was ordered due to AMA and still got the bill. The actual cost of the test is about 5k, but they only bill for what insurance doesn't cover.

I had the Panorama test on May 30th and on June 11th I was told that the results came back as "inconclusive."  I was told that this means that there was not enough of the baby's DNA in my blood sample, most likely because the test was taken too early.  (I was 11w6d when the blood was drawn).  I read online that this happens more often if you are overweight (which unfortunately I am).  I had the blood re-drawn on June 11th (at 13w,4d), so here is to hoping that the test works and that I get good results!  I'm nervous because my OB totally skipped the NT scan on me and now it is too late for that test.
  • Honestly? there seems to be alot of  false positives on NT scan, so it might be a blessing you never had it. It certainly created a ton of unnecessary fear in me, sadly.......

They can do the AFP test at 16 weeks which basically looks at the same stuff (bloodwise) as the NT scan.

    Good Luck
