What kind of baby carrier do you recommend?

I know we have discussed this before but I have narrowed my options down to three different kinds and need some opinions. DS will be 4 months old tomorrow and we are going on vacation next week. We will be hiking and outside a lot of the time and the terrain doesn't leave the option of bringing a stroller without being a headache and it will be hot out. I want to use the carrier for walks, vacations and just general use around the house so I can get things done. Can you also please comment below as to why you picked the one you did? If you think there is another carrier that is good and I am missing please let me know. TIA

  • I have not tried any of the options you listed. I do have the infantino Mei tai and I love it! We will be using it instead of a stroller in a couple weeks when we fly across the country to visit family.

  • Whatever you get, get it soon so you can practice with it before you need to use it on vacation. I definitely benefitted from practicing at home before using it out and about.

  • I have the Ergo Sport and I love it.  It's a lighter weight fabric than the original Ergo, and has a vent in the back of it.  I am not sure if it is still being made though; I got it on clearance from BRU.

  • I like a Boba or Tula, but Ergo sport is great. I have an original Ergo organic too, and it was super comfy and not too hot. (We were hiking ruins in Belize with our then 18mth old, and it was totally fine).
  • I rented various structured carriers and the lillebaby was by far the best for me because it has many positions and can carry up to 45 lbs. I have the 4 seasons which is great because I can open the vent panel on the fly.

I have one too! Mine is a red Ergo Sport! It's very nice. I got it online at some random website.

  • Thanks ladies for your input. I decided on the Ergo original and it comes tomorrow. We decided on it for overall use in the future not just this trip. Thanks again
