Finding childcare OOT help-especially Chicagoland

We're going to a wedding OOT in two weeks. I still don't have childcare for LO. All my family will either be at the wedding or aren't old enough to babysit. There is a hotel near by but I don't feel comfortable with hiring a complete stranger through an agency. Where should I look?

Also, if anyone knows of a specific company in the NW Indiana/Chicago area that offers baby sitting, please let me know. I trust you guys much more than random internet reviews.

    LOL! I would still love to do our meet up if time permits. Not sure if it will be kid free or not (Idc either way) but this is my biggest issue right now. My mom will watch LO any other night.

    I seriously would watch your kid. I would most definitely charge you :P but I'd have some fun! I also know 2 girls/young women who might be interested. PM me all the details and I'll contact them for you. I've used both and love them bc they treated Ds so well and adore my Dd.

    Right near me! Good luck finding someone. That is a tough spot.

    Can no one from your group hook you up with someone? When we went to my cousin's wedding OOT, she set up a babysitter for us. I was nervous, but she was great. I few weeks later, my aunt called me to tell me that the girl had decided to become a nun! LOL!

    I asked my cousin's fiance and all her friends are going to the wedding (they don't have kids and aren't providing a baby sitter). My other cousin that has young kids is looking for a sitter too so depending on who we find we may be able to find someone to go in on a sitter with her. 

    FWIW since we will be so close to the hotel I'm fine with a young teen who can just sit in the suite and watch TV while LO sleeps. We'll be less than 5 minutes away so they would just have to call me. It doesn't have to be someone who can put LO back down. I wouldn't expect anyone to be able to do that but me, SO, or my mom, sadly.

    @JerseySprouts‌ thanks! If I don't have something lines up soon I'll definitely ask the hotel. I hate calling places but I have to call for the discount room rate anyway so might as well ask then

    I use to do this a long long time ago. I worked for an agency called Rent-A-Mom and they would have me go to various hotels/houses when needed. Good luck and hope it works out!

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
    Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

    I'm in the Chicagoland area but I'm sorry I am of no help as I use my regular babysitter and family when I need a sitter. Seriously, I'm sorry I can't help!

    We have these too and I almost worked at one but I still feel i uneasy about it and I'm not sure why. maybe it's something I just need to get over since will be so close anyway

    Honestly even though I thought I was a great trusting person with kids and I always treated them like they were my own I can see how you would have to be totally at peace with this otherwise how does one have a fun time out? I don't have kids so I'm sure this is very hard. If you were in Pittsburgh I would so help you out :) Oh wait but you don't know me either haha.

    Hmm well at least LO would be sleeping. If you are pretty close could you come back for a quick check in visit?
