Do you pronounce the L in caulk?

I told MH that I needed to get some caulk today and I find it really difficult to pronounce the L in it so I always just end up saying cock. He told me to make sure and find a male employee when I went into Lowes and tell them that I really need some caulk.

    I emphasize the AU sound and kind of feel the L in the back of my throat (?) but then again, I can feel and hear the W in words like write and wrench.

    This is going to send me on a spiral because I have major feels about pronunciation.  My brother and I hear all words the same and get irrationally upset when we encounter people who genuinely don't hear/pronounce things the way phonics tells you you should  i.e. Mary, marry and merry do NOT sound the same.

    I definitely pronounce the L, but like PP said, it's not like a regular L sound, but more in the throat.

    I answered SS becasue I half pronounce it. Basically I pronounce it just enough so I don't sound like I'm saying cock.

     TTC since August 2011, Me = 40, DH = 38
    Unexplained IF. Tried Clomid for 3 cycles. All BFNs. BFP 1/6/13. Chemical pregnancy.

    Moving on to IVF#1. ER 11/26/13, 16 eggs retreived, 12 mature and all fertilized. 2 blasts transferred on 12/1. All other embies arrested so nothing left to freeze. Beta 12/10 = BFN. IVF #2 March 2014. BFP!!! TEAM BLUE!!!

    I don't pronounce the L, but I don't say it like "cock" either.  I know this because I've just said cock and caulk under my breath about a million times while reading this thread

    I say caulk like cawwwk, like there is almost an L but not quite.

    Yup. All the mary sounds are the same.
    And caulk is c-aw-k and cock is c-ah-k. It's a different sound. but I don't pronounce the L.

    i say the last part with a light, german-ish, guttoral pronounciation.  

    cau-(guttoral) cckk.

    i can't find any other way to say it but i don't say "cauh-lk" or "cock".

    maybe because i was raised in germany.  or maybe i'm just strange.  idk.

    I pronounce it like cock, but I have always called it caulking when referring to the sealant substance itself. Not sure if that's correct, but my mom always referred to it as caulking. Saves the possibility of awkwardness if I ever had to ask for it in a hardware store.
