Weekly IVF Check-In

This weekly check-in is for 3T regulars to fill us in on their IVF cycle.
If you'd like to join please provide the following...

1. Where are you in the IVF process (prepping, stimming, ER/ET date, etc)
2. What cycle?
3. Test/beta day?

QOTW: It dawned on me yesterday that my husband doesn't feel as passionate about some older movies that I can watch over and over again and I never get tired of them. What are those movies that just never seem to get old regardless of how many times you have watched it?

I am on day 11 of stims and had a monitoring appt this morning where I had 23 follicles 9-19mm. It's looking like I may have somewhere between 10-14 mature, but who knows, my E2 is 1932 today. The Dr looked over my blood work and the us and he's letting me go one more night of stims and is about 99% positive I will trigger tomorrow night and ER on thursday. So it's looking like I'm triggering on my Anniversary and will get my first Fert report on Friday the 13th. That is a good sign right? LOL

So looks like I'm going to continue sipping away at my V8 and take it easy for a few more days because these ovaries do not like it when I'm moving anymore.

QOTW: Yesterday I watched St Elmo's Fire and my husband had never seen it and didn't like it anyway, how did I marry this man not knowing this? I'm such a nut about Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Ferris Bullers Day off or movies from that era. Yes I'm showing my age but it's the movies I grew up on.

I am on my last day of BCP and hopefully I will start stims on Friday.

QOTW: I am not a movie person at all. If I do see a movie, once and I am good. I can't think of any movie that I have watched more than once.

I'm on day 10 of stims and based on my numbers today (don't know E2 yet, but based on follie size) they are thinking trigger Wednesday with ER Friday. I didn't realize it was Friday the 13th!! I'll have to wear my lucky everything. Although I love scary movies, so maybe it's appropriate. I have about 14 follicles, but 10 seem to be taking the lead. So I'm hoping for 8-10 mature eggs, but only time will tell.

QOTW: Funny you ask b/c in order to avoid our usually drinking routine, we have been movie maniacs and going to the midnight theater showings around town. But we are always torn on which cult classic to watch. We compromised and he saw Tremors for me last weekend and then went to see Raiders of the Lost Ark this past Saturday. I like old scary movies, Ghostbusters, and Sixteen Candles. He's the classic dork with Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

@ChristieH917 - yay for being done BCPs and GL starting stims!

AFM, 8dp3dt. I have been testing out my trigger, which doesn't seem to want to quit. I am debating whether to try one more tomorrow and then give it a rest - deciding what will make me less crazy! Beta is Friday. I will most likely test that morning so I am prepared for the phone call. I don't want to get that phone call, with no prep, during the middle of my work day. I'm hoping H can work from home for the afternoon too so we can both be here together.

QOTW: Dirty Dancing for sure. And although not a classic, Forgetting Sarah Marshall is always on and I always get sucked back into watching it because it cracks me up every single time.

I am PUPO! 3dp5dt and I'm going to test and see if my trigger is out tomorrow. It has taken 10ish days in the past, so it should be gone. Beta isn't until next Wednesday, so I'm definitely going to POAS for real starting Friday through the weekend.

@pintobean39- my ER was on our dating anniversary, and I took it as a good sign too. Good luck with ER!

@gsancho- good luck with ER too!

QOTW: I watch "That Thing You Do" probably every 2 or 3 months. It's not even an old movie, but it just makes me happy. Other than that, I'm like @ChristieH917- I don't like to rewatch most movies. I get bored.

@gsancho‌ hope those follies keep growing! My grandma was born on Friday the 13th and she was amazing, so I've always seen it as a lucky day!!

AFM, I'm officially done with stims--trigger tonight for ER Wednesday!! I'm chugging fluids cause my e2 was over 4000, but I have 20 plus follies...hopefully they will be good and mature! I'm so glad things are looking better than last cycle, but I'm still quite paranoid!!
ETA: qotw: I can watch the wedding date or steel magnolias any day!! DH and I love Star Wars and all the Avenger movies.

CD 1 has arrived. I gave 12 vials of blood today for all of the IVF blood work. I start BCPs tomorrow. Our tentative plan is: BCPs for three weeks. Ute measurement, mock transfer and IVF teaching on 6/19. Blood work and u/s on 6/30. Start stimming on 7/4 with ER the week of 7/14. This all has to be approved by my RE with the little caveat that I cannot be at the office for monitoring on 7/11. We will be out of town. The nurse never called me back today, and she said no news was good news. So FX she doesn't call tomorrow either and we're good to go. If she does call then we just push things back.

QOTW: I LOVE "Gone with the Wind". C...well, I haven't even tried to make her watch it. I know she would be bored and fall asleep. @runawaylaurel‌ - I love "That Thing You Do"! I was just thinking about it the other day. I am also partial to "Empire Records". C might enjoy that one.

Hi All,

I hope you don't mind me posting here but we have our scheduled IVF seminar next Thursday at our RE office. I believe it's a group meeting that one of the RE runs. It lasts about 2 1/2 hours from what our nurse told me and then we have our planning meeting with our RE the first week of July.

What should I expect from the group IVF seminar? Should I ask questions there or wait until we meet again with our RE?

Any and all thoughts are greatly appreciated!

@Amazing817 I didn't have a group seminar, but in our meeting with the nurse, she took us through the meds I would take, a little on the injections (although she went into more detail at a later date), and the IVF schedule they go through - when to take additional tests, when they would need a semen sample to save, etc. Since I had learned a lot from lurking on the IF board, it wasn't anything too complicated.

I am only on day 5 of birth control. I feel like ive been on it for a month already. 19 days seems like forever. And I just read no unprotected sex during the cycle. That put a big downer on my day.

I can watch and rewatch any disney movie or master of disguise. Something I can just laugh at.

@Amazing817 I didn't have a seminar either. We just sat down with my nurse, like gsancho said. I assume you'll still have the same talk with your nurse too. Sorry I can't be more help, I hope you get lots of good info!

@KRSimmons3 no unprotected sex during the whole IVF cycle? Haha, oops! I was told to cut it out after egg retrieval (when it was the last thing on my mind anyway) through 5 days after ET. Is it because you might ovulate spontaneously? Interesting, and a big bummer.

Apparently, its due to the chance of ectopic pregnancy. I had to ask a friend today that has done 3 cycles. I was hoping it was just a suggestion and not a rule.
