Clomid

So I'm on Day 2 of Clomid & I'm feeling the side effects. Mild head ache and cramping, hot flashes, a little anxious feeling...but the "funniest" one of all is that several times this morning out of the blue, I felt like I could break down and start crying. As I was chopping vegetables this morning and feeling on the brink of sobbing, I had to make myself laugh to snap out of it! 

Does this sound similar to anyone else's experience? 

I also kind of just want to curl up on the couch and watch TV all day.

At the end of the day, I'm just counting the days until my 1st IUI...should be sometime mid next week!

    Yes, Clomid can really mess with you. It gave me bad hot flashes...like standing outside in 20 degrees without a coat and still burning up. As for emotions, I was all over the place but the most common one for me was rage. lol It's not a fun med to take!! FX it doesn't get too bad and your IUI is successful!

    IUI w/clomid 7/2011. IUI w/clomid & injectables 11/2011 & 1/2012. ~ All BFN
    IVF:EPP 5/2012 ~ (4R, 3M, 2F w/ICSI). Both embryos txfrd. ~ BFN
    BCP to manage endo from 10/2012 to 12/2012.
    FET w/donor embryos #1: 10/2013 Cancelled
    FET w/donor embryos #1.2: 11/2013     ~ ET of 2 beautiful blasts on 11/27.
    Beta 1: 503(12dp5dt) Beta 2: 1035(14dpt) Beta 3: 3001(16dpt)     Beta 4: 8503(19dpt)
    Twins with an EDD of 8/15/14! Team Purple

    The only SE I experienced was the horrible cramping when I O'd.  It didn't last long, but man it hurt.

    Yes, clomid was the devil for me. Hot flashes galore and moodiness.. Hate that stuff. It's one of e IF drugs I hate the most along with lupron...

    TTC #1 since 8/1/10; Me:41 and BRCA1+, DH:46
    DOR (FSH 24.3)/ terrible egg quality ; homozygous MTHFR c677t
    5 IUI's: 2/11 to 6/11 and 1/12= BFN
    OE IVF#1-4 8/11-6/12= all BFN
    DE IVF#1 11/12 bad embryos= BFN
    DE IVF #2 2/13 BFP/Beta hell: m/c 5w6d
    CFNBC 7 months, not doing well; decided on guarantee program at RBA w/frozen DE
    DE IVF #3 1/14  ET 4BB; BFP;M/C 5w1d, incomplete m/c; MVA extraction in ER 7w1d

    DE FET#1 ET 3/1714; BFP, beta 1 3/27= 197, beta 2 3/31= 1586, beta 3 4/7= 13879!!
    First u/s= Twins with HBs at 6w2d! We are Team Pink x 2!!

    Clomid was the devil for me, too. It really affected my emotions and made me useless at work. Fx the Clomid will work for you right away but if not, and if it really makes you feel like crap, you could ask your doc if you could switch to Femara or injectibles in subsequent cycles.

    Oh yeah, that all sounds par for the course! I had many of those side effects for my three clomid+IUI cycles. Good luck!

    Dx: Unexplained IF, Arcuate Uterus, Minimal Endometriosis, Poor Embryo Quality
    Tx History: 1 Injects+TI, 5 IUIs, 3 IVFs, 1 FET = all BFN and full of heartbreak
    Plan: Waiting to see if our potential donor is a match for DE IVF #1
