Okay so my sister gave me a heap of her old baby stuff this weekend. My mom suggested I wash it all in dreft detergent. I went to buy some and it cost like 13 bucks for a teeny tiny jug, which just seems outrageous to me. I bought it this time, but are there alternatives? Do I have to use that stuff? Any advice from you STM+ moms would be appreciated.
Re: Dreft..do I have to?
We use All Free & Clear. Any "Free & Clear" detergent will work and be better for baby than Dreft.
And an added bonus, we don't have to do separate loads for baby stuff, it all gets washed together.

My 1st developed a rash as an infant because he was super sensitive to dyes and fragrances in our detergent. Pediatrician said any "Free and Clear" version would solve the problem and it cleared right up. With both the girls, I switched to dye/fragrance free brands until they were around a year old and never had problems. Plan to do the same with this one.

I used regular detergent once because we ran out and mistake on my part he broke out bad. My mom said I was the same way when I was a baby. She had to use detergent with dreft. My brother was fine wth regular though.
