We've had one for DD since she was about 4mo old? I think it's really helped. The teething hell that people describe has been very minimal for us. When we have our next child, I will definitely be buying another one around the same time (4mo).

Only when my pedi brought it up, I got worried. We have never had any problems with it though. If you are really worried there are anklets and bracelets instead of necklaces.

Funny, I just got Ava one today! A friend of mine sent it to us, and it's super cute on her. I don't know if it was a coincidence or what but within 10-15 minutes of putting it on she calmed down considerably. She'd be really cranky and fussy all day.
It's not coincidence, just the magic of the amber beads

We've also used one since DD was 4 months old. We took it off at night for the first 6ish months but realized that she never touched it and there was nothing for it to get caught on. I picked on up for 2.0 a few weeks ago.
I have never known that DD was getting a tooth unless I looked in her mouth and saw it, so I don't know if I have an easy feather or if the necklace just keeps her really comfortable. Whatever it is, I like it and think it's cute so it's staying!

I bought an amber anklet on etsy for DD3. She wore it 24-7 for months, and it did nothing. She was still a fussy mess all.the.time. I'd put it on her again now, but she'd just play with it/pull it off and break it.

They are awesome. Got ours on Amazon. It was here in two days. Ds2 wears it 24/7. His teething pain is basically non existent compared to ds1 who never wore one.
Ok people, what is supposed to be the magical property of old dry sap necklaces that makes babies teeth not hurt? I don't get it.
People keep saying they work wonders, but I've heard most of the ones on the market are fake.
There is no scientific evidence that they work, even if they are real amber.
But hey, if they make your baby stop crying, whatever.
DH thought it was a gimmick. After so many months though, he feels they're worth the price for something that *seems* to work. I don't know if scientifically they work, but they seem to and that's good enough for me

I figure if people are buy into the fact that a plastic giraffe is the BEST toy for infants anf amber teethers aren't that bug of a stretch. Haha. I think that giraffe is a crock of shit haha
Because thinking a toy is awesome isn't the same as thinking a necklace has magical pain healing properties.
But...but...it totes does have magical healing powers!
JK, but I swear to god, irrational or not, that thing works. Or maybe I just think it works. Who knows. Either way, my child wasn't a terrible teether so I consider it a win.

Well I didn't get the overpriced dog toy either. I thought it would be too mean to tease the dog, lol
But also you're just being humorous right? Because thinking a toy is awesome isn't the same as thinking a necklace has magical pain healing properties.
I am terrified of things getting wrapped around my children's necks. There's no way in hell I would put something around a baby's neck on purpose. I don't think any possible benefit would outweigh the risk, even if it were scientifically proven.

Well if you're watching your child when they're up, then I don't see how they could possibly choke on it. Just take it off when they go to bed.

Accidents happen, even when you are watching. I fully admit I am paranoid about stuff around the neck, though. It is a legitimate risk, but I probably worry more than most. I have trimmed strings on many toys and articles of clothing.
We had one for DS and it seemed like he got fussier after we put it on him. I couldn't tell if it just wasn't helping or if the necklace was bothering him so we just took it off. I'd say he had an average reaction to teething. It never interferred with his overnight sleeping, so I counted us lucky.
Re: amber teethers
Thats a good idea! Thanks ladies!!
