Moms with 'bad sleepers'

I figured I can't be the only one who's totally jealous of all the moms with good sleepers! I've been seeing all of these posts about babies sleeping 4,5,6+ hours and my little guy still has me up every 2 hours most nights. We get a few 4 hour stretches on occasion, but there's no consistency. He was born on 4/16 and is probably just about 10 lbs. I go back to work in 4 weeks and am praying for some improvement by then!

If misery loves company, I figured this post could be good for us to vent a bit!

  • Oh us! When I read about people complaining about 3-4 hour stretches I want to punch them. Im up every 2 hours with ny little guy. Last night he woke up at 2 and NEVER went back to sleep.I am supposed to drive 2 hours with him today for a doctor's appointment so I called my MIL at 7:30 in tears asking her if I could drop him off for two hours do I could sleep before we hit the road. He's only 6 weeks but still c'mon little man you are not making motherhood easy. And yes I do all the 5 s' s, bottle feed him 3 ounces, and keep it dark and unstimulating. The worst part is that it takes metime to fall back asleep so that means even less time sleeping for me.

  • I was one of those moms who was getting 5-6 hour stretches & my LO just flipped back to every 1-2 hours within the last 2 days! It can change in either direction at anytime :(
  • I was one of those moms too , id put him down at 8:30-9pm and he'd wake up to feed at 1am and then back down till 5:45am and be up for the day.. He been up the past few nights ever 2 hours screaming :-( I think it's heat , we seam to be having hot days and nights
  • DS is up every 2-3 hours throughout the night, but we're cosleeping (like, he on my mattress next to me in bed) so I know that effects his sleep. That said, all I have to do when he wakes is put my boob in his mouth, so it barely bothers me. Last night he surprised me with a 4 hour stretch, but those are reeeally rare.
DD was the same, and then around 8 months she switched to being an awesome, awesome sleeper (knock on wood) that continues until today, so here's hoping DS follows in his sister's footsteps :)

  • Ya, my little man is 2 months today & 13 lbs. He has pulled a few 4 hour stretches but mostly it's 2-3 hours on good nights & 1-2 hours on bad nights. I'm starting to get used to the crappy sleep.
