health issues

I have been feeling down lately. I don't think it's PPD because its the same way I felt last year when I was having the same problems.

I was diagnosed with an inner ear disorder last year that is really difficult to treat. My ear has been ringing for 16 months now. Sometimes its not very noticeable and other times it is very distracting. Last year when it first started I was having daily panic attacks about it. Along with the ringing comes an insane amount of pressure and fullness, along with some hearing loss. At the beginning of September I got it under control and pretty much forgot I even had a disorder. It was great for about 7 months during the pregnancy. Unfortunately it's back now and I am really struggling with it again. Trying to not have panic attacks again. I was unrealistically hopeful that I wouldn't have a problem again so I am having a hard time. I am just so mad that it is happening NOW. I just want to enjoy my baby without this. I know a full and ringing ear is not so bad, it definitely could be worse but it is so draining. I also constantly worry that it could turn into Meniere's disease which it sometimes does. I hate the unknown.

Thanks for letting me vent. I just needed a place to write out my frustrations.

Re: health issues

  • I am sorry you are dealing with this! I can imagine a constantly ringing ear would be extremely frustrating, not to mention your other symptoms. I hope it gets better for you!

  • I'm sorry that you're dealing with this. I'm dealing with ppd/anxiety and once I admitted it and am getting help, life has been better.

Ménière's disease runs in my family and I see the effects from it in my family members. I hope that whatever is ailing you is identified so that you can be on the road to better health.
  • Thanks everyone.

@Yogini6911‌ I am sorry to hear Menieres runs in your family. It is such a horrible disease. I really couldn't imagine it. I have Cochlear Hydrops which is sometimes referred to as Atypical Menieres. I am extremely fortunate to not have the vertigo aspect. The rest is bad enough.
