Second c-section scar

I'm having my second c-section this coming August..... And one thing that's recently crossed my mind is the scar/incision site. Will the Dr cut on the same line where my first c-section scar is or do they do a totally different cut making a new scar? I'd rather than cut over the previous scar so I don't have two but whatever they gotta do to get my DD out is fine! Anyone have any feedback on this, I'd really appreciate it!

Re: Second c-section scar

  • My second is almost exactly over the first one.

  • OK that's what I thought but wanted to make sure! Thanks!
  • Mine is almost the exact same. They cut a little farther horizontal to get him out but basically same spot

I have two different ones. The second one is nearly healed (3.5 years in) but the first one (5.5 years) is still a red mess.
  • My doctor looked at mine at my initial appointment and said "I can work with that", so I'm assuming it'll be close, if not exactly the same site.

  • She cut my old one out completely and I have a less noticeable one this time around. The first was a middle of the night emergency c/s by a different MD. The second was scheduled and my OB noticed I scarred a lot and used a different type of suture that she removed three days later instead of the dissolvable ones I had the first time.

  • I asked my OB, and she said she'll do it in the same spot.

  • My OB was going to do my second right on my first, my when I went in to deliver I had a pimple in the incision so the did the second a few millimeters off. No biggie in the end.
