Sad Comment

I was at the park playing with DD and she saw a man walking and she points and says, Daddy! (she calls every guy daddy right now) Well there are two little boys playing right near us and one heard her and says, 'I have a Daddy!' The other one pauses and says... 'I sometimes have a Daddy.' Sad!

    Did the kid seem sad? I dunno...I could see my 8yo SS saying something like this in a totally manner-of-fact way, and DH is an amazingly involved father. He just doesn't live with them anymore, ya know?

    Yeah, he didn't seem too sad. Mom want wearing a ring. He said it like a fact and really I do most of the parenting so even married my DD could eventually say that same thing but it made me sad that he just said it like reality the same as the kids who said the previous comment. It is just the way it is I guess.

    Oh I know it just made me sad because the kid said it like fact.  I know that it doesn't necessarily mean anything.  Our daycare lady's husband travels for his job and her three year old last week asked when daddy was coming to "visit" next!
