Surviving the heat + humidity

Hi y'all,
My husband's kin is having a big family reunion in New Orleans/ Metairie/Kenner. I am really worried because we will be outside a lot of the days sight seeing, etc.
One day we will be at the big picnic, held on the alligator farm (think Everglades). They said they will have air conditioned tents at the picnic.
How am I going to keep Catherine cool??? She loves the ergo but I feel like she will get really hot in that from being up against me or DH. Britax car seat/stroller is an option...maybe I could get clip on fans to clip on the canopy?
Ideas??? How do you Deep South Mamas keep dem babies cool?

We stay inside during the heat of the day 11-2
As for the humidity, its just going to make you feel sticky.
Honestly, i would do the carseat and stroller canopy with the fan if you will be out for long period of time.
I used to wear her in a moby but she baked.
I am in South east texas we have plenty of heat and humidity!!
I do ice cubes on pulse points and clip on stroller fan.
