Still afraid

Anyone still afraid to DTD even after being cleared? I had my PP visit last Monday, but ended up having an excision to remove a piece of tissue that was not sewn in properly. She said I could have sex a week after the excision which would be tomorrow. I took a look down there today and things seem different, but definitely healed. I'm still afraid to DTD even though I really want to and so does DH. Should I wait longer or just go for it? I don't want to hurt anything, but I have a feeling it will hurt regardless. I just want to have regular sex again!!!

I was scared and the first time did hurt. I also had some pain afterward but that only lasted a few minutes. Just go for it and use lots of lube.

I wasn't afraid this time, but I was with DS1. We ended up waiting until I was 12 weeks PP and it was fine. I do recommend having some lubrication handy because hormones and breastfeeding (if you are) can make you more dry than normal.

Just use a lot a lot of lube and go slow. If you're breastfeeding hormones make your vaginal walls thin and dry and that can make things painful, even though nothing is really wrong.

We finally did this morning.. it hurt and felt almost like the first time I ever had sex as far as being tight and not terribly lubricated. We just took it slow!

When we did it for the first time since baby, I commented "i felt like I was 17 again." (the age that I was when I lost my virginity). Because DH wasn't the one that I lost my virginity to, he just gave me the "oh honey" look.

In all honesty, it actually felt even better than before. I had a second degree tear and was terrified it would hurt but it didn't. It was uncomfortable more in my inner thigh area. I have had some adjusting in my pelvic ligaments it think. Just use lube and you'll do fine.

I was also really scared. I had an episiotomy and a 2nd degree tear. I went into my check up thinking I still had stitches because it felt weird down there but they were gone.. So i still waited another week after I was cleared to have sex. We put DS down, I took a hot bath with a glass of wine, we did some foreplay and used lube and honestly it was not bad at all!!! It was a little "tight" and we had to go slow, but it was "successful" after just a couple minutes for me.. I was surprised! It was a thousand times better than when I was pregnant.

Definitely indulged in a few drinks beforehand which helped. In all honesty, the anticipation of pain was way worse than any actual pain. Now I wish I hadn't had drinks #2 or #3 because it was heartbreaking to pump and pour my BM down the drain!

I was soo afraid as well but lots of lube worked wonders! I didn't even have to have a drink. Sex is amazing for me even better than before I got pregnant as well! Go for it, take it slow.
