3rd Trimester

1st time mom, 35 weeks and having contractions?

Hi- I'm a 1st time mom and I'm 35 weeks pregnant, this evening I have been having a lot of tightness in my abdomen. I have had some pain that feels like indigestion and occasional shap pains right above my pubic bone. The baby is moving a little in between the tightness and yesterday my doctor told me he was breech. Is he just turning around maybe or should I be concerned? Or option B, am I overreacting?

  • If you're having contractions (5min apart) and if your water breaks then go to the hospital. Otherwise sounds like normal 3rd tri Braxton Hicks contractions, getting some practice in. As far as indigestion, I'd consider you lucky only having to deal w it now. I'm taking meds for constant acid reflux. I've not yet had a breech baby so I'm not sure if anything you described is of concern bc of LO's position, but doesn't sound like it.

  • It sounds like you're having Braxton Hicks contractions and normal end of pregnancy discomfort. If the baby was flipping, you'd definitely know it at this point, beyond just some pelvic pain.

  • Thank you! :-) they have calmed down a little, it's just so hard to tell when you should be concernd when this is all so new. I don't want to be crazy, but I don't want to be stupid either.
  • I started having really good ones like once an hour at night when I got home right at about 35 weeks. Now.. that I really want them... I have nothing lol. But yes.. if you even have 6 in an hour I would call the DR. You really do want that baby in there for a few more week.
