We will be reusing some of DS baby things. The pack and play and bouncer for example have things that can't be washed. What can I use to clean these with? Just a damp rag with some soap? None require heaving cleaning just want to freshen them up.
I've seen on Pinterest a recipe for cleaning the PnP. It seems pretty simple and I'll probably be grossed out over what was left from DS. I'm not sure about the other things, like a swing or bouncer. I might run the vacuum hose over them or spray a little Lysol or febreze to get the stale smell out.
We've been using a tiny amount of blue dawn in very warm water, then wiping down with clean warm water to remove as much soap as possible. We've also been putting as much as possible out in the sun to get rid of stains and odors.

Febreeze makes me sneeze. I make my own with water, a little white vinegar and then lemon or lavender or pine left to soak overnight and sieved out before using the liquid in a spray bottle.
Slight tangent there but my suggestion is basically febreeze it.
I also agree to Babyganics. You don't want to wipe a pnp and have your baby sleep on those chemicals. I used the Babyganics wipes on our stored baby stuff today.
For the bouncer and swing, I was able to get the pads off and hand washed them in the sink, line dried. I just put the bases in the shower and ran the water over them and wiped them down.
For the infant seat, I also took the padding off and hand washed it. The water in the sink was brown so I'm glad I did. Don't wash the straps (ie submerge them in water), however - those can only be spot treated in order to maintain their integrity. I wiped down the plastic shell and base with some warm water. Looks pretty good afterwards.
We didn't use a pack and play, so I'm not a big help there. Some PP had some good ideas, however.
I put ours out in the sun just to freshen up, and it will tend to bleach things a bit. DS hardly used it so I'm not worried about what is in it. baking soda and a vacuum are likely my next plans.
Anything that needs more, light soap and water and let it sit and immediately dry.
No fabreeze, I don't want those chemicals around a baby.
What would you recommend for plastic toys? We got some hand-me-downs I'd like to clean first but am worried about chemicals with baby putting his mouth on them. Just soap and warm water or special wipes?
You can wash all the padding. On a gentle cycle, original blue dawn with vinegar and got water works great for everything! The Pinterest recipe for PnP is also original blue dawn, vinegar and a tub full or warm water. Let it soak and then you can rinse it off with clean shower water. We are re-using all of DS's stuff since they are only 20 months apart!
