Maybe some one can help me out? Tula question

So I want to get a Tula an have been searching all over for a pattern myself and DH would both wear. Upon searching I have become very confused and wondering if someone could help me out.

Why are used tulas selling for $500, $600, even $1,800? I even saw one on the B/S/T go for like $330 used when I could go buy the exact same one on the site for $160 ad there was a long line of ladies wanting it. Am I totally missing something here? Do people really pay almost two grand for a used baby carrier? What makes used ones so special.

If you tandem baby wear what is your set up? Bonus if you have a picture!

  • I know, right!?!? There are women that have several too. It's crazy how quickly a 900$ baby carrier sells. 10-15 minutes within being posted. If your on Facebook join the Tula b/s/t group and check it out! It's quite entertaining. I joined thinking I could get a cheaper carrier or wrap, ha!

  • The canvas ones are about $160 but the wrap conversion Tulas are anywhere from $250+ depending on what wrap it is made from.  The canvas are usually resold about the same price as what they were bought for unless they come with custom made accessories or it is a discontinued pattern then the price is based on demand.

  • I just don't get why they don't just buy new if they are going to buy used at the same price. But even the WC limited addition or not most I see are not that "cute" and most certainly not cute enough to spend almost two grand on. I guess I just do not get it, lol! It's a baby carrier that going to get puked on peed on drooled on held on to by sticky little hands..... Not a prada purse :/ it makes no sense to me.

Just looked these up... The prices just on the website seem nutso. It's a huge range. But man, as a lover of baby carriers, I was totally drooling. I've never heard of this brand and I'm done having babies. Kinda want one more just for this! Haha kidding/not kidding
Eta: how is everything? Surgeries go good? I probably missed it in another thread but was thinking about you.
  • His case was much more sever than initially thought so we had to push his surgery to the first week in July so he could see a specific surgeon. His little bladder is split right down the middle And he has actually two in there as well as a partial split on another organ and they have been looking at places to take skin grafts to do other reconstruction so we have just been driving back and fourth for MRIs, other testing, and pre op appointments. But hopefully this particular surgeon can do his operation in July 2nd or the day after! Seems like the past few weeks we have been living at the children's hospital with all the appointments and consultations though.

  • Not to hijack your thread mama but you might also want to try Kinderpacks. They are so much more comfortable than a Tula and the pricing is more consistent. They also have a b s t page on fb and while the used do hold their value they usually don't sell for more than retail. I have been a kp fan since my first and now I use with my twins and the design is just super comfy. I feel like a Tula is just a dressed up Ergo. Lol. Just my opinion. I haven't tried tandem wearing yet mostly because I'm not sure either of my twins is ready for a back carry yet. Good luck!

  • OMG that's exactly what I thought too! They are just a fancy ergo.... Which I think is horribly uncomfortable I saw one go for $2,600 last night it's just unbelievable!

I hope that the surgery goes smoothly. And 2600?! That is hard to imagine!
