  My mother taught special education and I often volunteered in the class and brought my DD. My ex mil felt I shouldn't take DD because she made a gesture many rude people make when mocking people with disabilities. I was so pissed because she learned that from the unruly kids at her school not my mom's students!
  I told my ex MIL I was raised exposed to people with disabilities and she responded maybe that's my problem
