Our @katburdette is in labor!! Final Update (with picture!)

Our @katburdette‌ is in L&D! At 3 cm and 90% effaced she is currently on fetal monitoring but plans to be walking the hall very soon to try and get things moving along the old-fashioned way. Baby had one heart rate dip, but recovered well. Pain is bearable right now and she would really like to make some good progress before any pain interventions are considered...so let's cheer her on!!!

Update #1: She is making progress! Up to 4.5 cm dilated and they are starting some pitocin to help the process along…

Update #2: Pitocin is at work and Mama got an epidural ("the most amazing thing ever") to help with pain control. She is going to try to get a little rest while she can and will get rechecked in a few hours. Now we wait!

Update #3: Like the superstar she is, @katburdette has progressed to 8 cm and just had her water broken. We are in the waiting to push countdown!

Update #4: Big change of plan! Looks like labor has stalled at 8 cm despite the pitocin and numerous attempts at repositioning. It looks like there may be a ceohalopelvic disproportion (CPD) issue and that a surgical birth is the safest option at this point. Kat is greeting prepped for a c-section and hopefully will meet her little girl soon!

Final Update: Ms. Kylie Ann has made her debut! At 7 lbs 5 oz and 19 3/4 inches long she has already latched on and is "feeding like a champ". It was a long road, but it looks like @katburdette is walking away with the cutest little prize. Congrats to the whole family!
