At 39 weeks the anticipation was killing me. I woke up excited and had a funny feeling that I could have the baby today. I went for a walk in the morning and night with the hubs. I had a real heaviness feeling all day, and after the evening walk I felt more pressure and heaviness then ever. Afterwards I took a shower and got into my pjs when water began leaking all over me. It felt warm and there was no control. I told my dh I think my water broke, where he responded "you probably just peed yourself." Which would make sense if I didn't soak through three more undies!! The hosp confirmed I did break my water, and so the night began!! I was naturally dilating, so I didn't need pitusin right away. I went from a 2 to a 5 within 4 hours. At that point they started the pitusin to speed things up and get contractions closer. (Also had a penicillin bag for gbs, which just a warning, burns at first.) Before you know it the contractions got stronger and stronger, I held out for awhile but decided I was no hero and needed an epidural. I was terrified getting it, but it really wasn't too bad. I hyped it up way too much in my mind, and immediately the relief is awesome! I was pretty relaxed until I reached 9 cm then the contractions got really bad. It all becomes like a blur. Nurses and doctors coming in and out, some medical student, and then a lady with big scissors for an episiotomy. I felt like I was watching tlc "a baby story." But your in so much pain from the contractions, and focusing on getting baby that nothing else seems to matter! After about 30 pushes, I'm happy to say I have my beautiful baby boy. The minute they put my sweet baby on my chest, you really do forgot about everything you just went through, and learn very quickly how amazing our bodies are to make such an amazing human being!! I'm so in love and wish you all great deliveries!!!!!

Ps. As I write this I'm back in the hospital after being sent home Friday. Baby's billirubin was a little high at first doc appt today. make sure you get that checked before you leave! Sucked being discharged and then having to come back.
