Sippy cups and straw cups

DS uses sippy cups, but likes to throw them when he is finished drinking. (That is not what this post is about, but if you have tips on how to break that habit, please post 'em!) We've tried several and he seems to like the ones with soft spouts, but they usually leak.

He will not drink out of a straw and really would like to drink out of our adult cups (what a mess). 

Any advice on which sippy cups you like that don't leak?
Any advice on how to get him to drink from a straw?

    I'm following this...DS does not understand how to drink from a straw at all.

    Our munchkin sippy cups with the soft spouts don't leak at all. You just have to make sure the spout is pulled through all the way and totally flat inside or else it will leak.

    DS likes the Playtex cups. I just got him a thermal one that has a lip like a real cup but it's still a sippy. As for the cup throwing we are dealing with this too. I now make him stop, pick it up and either hand it to me or ask him to put it on the table. I explain that we don't throw and if he doesn't want it he needs to place it on the table. So far, after working on it this week he's doing better. Not 100% yet, but much better.
