Trouble TTC

D3 b/w number queshhhhhh

Just a little confused. My numbers are "in range" according the quest diagnostics lab...but when I look at them on the graph they seem very very very low. Just above the "in range". For example LH in range is .5-76.3 and my LH came in at a whopping 4.0. And the FSH Normal range is 1.5-116.3 and my FSH is 6.3.... I just don't think these numbers are high enough to result in pregnancy. This is also after I took 10 days of progesterone to bring on AF. Your thoughts?

Re: D3 b/w number queshhhhhh

  • Those numbers seem normal to me. I'm doing IVF this cycle and my LH was 4.1 and FSH 8.2 on cd2.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Loading the player...
  • LH or luteinizing hormone is produced in those larger numbers close to ovulation to mature and release the egg. It is what causes the line on an OPK to get darker and finally show positive.

A LOWER FSH number is the best (as long as it's still within range) because it indicates your ovaries are still full of healthy eggs, so you body does not need to produce large amounts of Follicle Stimulating Hormone to get a viable egg each cycle. A level under 10 is normal; from 10-15 indicates concern. Perhaps the higher end of normal could indicate perimenopausal woman.

If it makes you feel better, my FSH level was almost the same as yours, and the RE told me because of it that I don't even have a biological clock to think about. :)

  • The range is so wide on LH and FSH because those numbers increase as you get close to ovulation. On CD 3 it is good to be at the low end of the average range.
