Ok mama's I wanna know how you told your DH, FI, SO, BF you were expecting! I told DH I had gotten him a gift. He thought he was getting a shirt LOL ) I still crack up when I see his reaction hahaha. Here's the vid:
DH was home when I tested, so I had him come in to look and see if I was crazy or if the squinter was really there lol. It wasn't romantic or exciting :P. That's kinda how it happened with both my DS and this baby. I just brought him in to see after lines popped up.

We did IVF/FET so we were scheduled for my beta the next day. He is actually the one who convinced me to test early. I did and left it in the bathroom because I was too afraid to look. After a lot of freaking out "I'm too afraid! Don't look at it! We just won't use our bathroom until after our beta tomorrow, k?" We slowly walked in. I saw the strong positive (my first ever) and was like "oh my god!" He thought my tone sounded disappointed (apparently) so he was thinking it was negative. When we finally got on the same page, we hugged and cried. Still can't believe it.

Great video! My husband was so convinced I was pregnant based on my boobs getting big and sore that by the time my period was two days late he had just decided I was pregnant and said buying a test would be a waste of money. Finally like 3-4 days after my missed period I dragged him to to the store for a test because I said this is just what's done lol. Neither of us were really surprised when it turned positive.
I had gone to the grocery store after my workout class on evening and while I was there I checked if the pregnancy tests were on sale. I wanted to stock up for my next cycle cause I was totally convinced that it hadn't worked that cycle.
I got home and my DH said why don't you just check to make sure. (I had done one of those early pregnancy tests and it had come back negative.)
So I opened up the new test I just bought and tested and it came back positive. I pretty much had a minor freak out in the bathroom. I called my DH over and showed him the positive test. He was super excited.
I did retest a couple hours later to confirm. Positive again.
I was completely shocked for the first couple of days. Still now I "forget I am pregnant" somedays. It's pretty awesome knowing you are carrying this tiny human inside.
@Yami4 so cute! I wish I had thought to do something cute like that. Instead, I came home from work the day I was supposed to start my period and said I just want to know if I am or not (my cycles are slightly irregular). Went and took the test while he was sitting on the couch eating dinner and probably caught him so off guard bringing him a stick I peed on while he was eating lol. I made him go get another pack of tests because I was afraid I had somehow done it wrong. He still didn't want to believe it until we went to the doc for a blood test
Very cute reaction from your DH. My DH was convinced I was right after I had O'd since my boobs were sore. Me, I just thought my period was coming early and maybe I didn't O at all. On my son's 3rd birthday I decided at 3am to test ( just for the heck if it) and I went back to sleep and forgot about it until I saw it on the back of the toilet while getting my perfume as I was about to walk out if the door for work. It was positive and I'm pretty sure my mouth hit the floor! I was shocked and text DH a picture later that day after taking another test and he was also shocked! The shock didn't fade until about 7 weeks in- we are very happy now of course:)
Our beta day finally arrived - the moment of truth. I had to work late that day, so I had asked our IVF nurse to leave me a voicemail w/ the results so DH & I could listen to it together when I got home from work.
My phone was burning a hole in my pocket ALL day. As soon as I saw the voicemail come through, I couldn't wait. Snuck into a private bathroom at work & promised myself I wouldn't be a hot mess if it was bad news again.
I still have that voicemail saved. As soon as I heard "Congrats, you're pregnant!" I totally Iost it. Sat shaking on the bathroom floor and sobbing tears of relief & joy... pretty embarrassing. Right away I called DH (from the bathroom floor) lol. He started to choke up & kept asking if I was serious.
I was out with girlfriends and on a whim, jokingly told them to buy a test when they ran to the store for more champagne. I finally got around to taking it, had a light positive, bought 10 more tests from the dollar store next door, which I forced all my friends to also take so I had comparisons, all positives. I had to take a cab home because of the champagne, walked into the house with a paper bag full of tests that I dumped on the floor and said "I don't know what is going on but these are all coming back positive."
Needless to say, we were not trying to conceive. But he rolled with it right from the beginning and we never looked back!
Thank you ladies! It was ridiculously hard keeping it in until he got
home! Lol. I had a routine GYN appt. earlier that same day and was not
expecting the nurse to barge in and say"Congratulations! You're
pregnant!" Hahaha. I'm loving your stories. It's still crazy to think
that there's a baby inside and that in a few months we'll be holding our little bundles of joy! :x
Leif + Yami Est. 7/27/06 Mr. & Mrs. since 7/1/12 Expecting our first LO!Team BLUE!SDT's EDD 11/17/14
We had been trying for 7 months, since July 2013. February 22 was our 11 year
anniversary of being together, and I had meant to get him a small gift,
but didn't find what I was looking for, so I just told him that I
wanted to get him something. I tested on 2/23 on a CBE digi, but got a negative, and
that was 2 days before AF was due, so I thought I wasn't pregnant. But
it didn't start on 2/25. Then it didn't start on 2/26. I had one more
CBE digi left at home, so I took it when I got home from work,
expecting to see the ugly "NOT PREGNANT" yelling in my face again. But
to my surprise, the "not" was missing! I quickly got to working on my
big reveal, to have it ready before he got home from work.
When Ryan
finally got home, I was all smiles, and had a gift bag waiting for him.
Since I had meant to get him a gift for our anniversary, he thought it
was just that. He took out the first piece of tissue paper, and under it
was a Sugar Daddy candy. He loves them, and we give each other treats
all the time, so he just said "Yum!" and thought nothing of it. Pulled
out the next paper, under it was a box of Sugar Babies. I could tell by
his face that no light had gone off yet. Pulled out the paper, under it
was a onesie facing up that said "My Dad Rocks!". He started laughing
hysterically, then looked at me and said
"What?......What?.....What?.....Are you serious?....What?" I told him to
keep going. Under that was another onesie that said "Mommy's Little
Monster", and under that, the positive test. He was in as much shock as I
was, but that quickly changed to excitement. This is our first, and
we're both so excited and happy.
Well depends when we consider ourselves pregnant. He was there watching the embryo being placed in my uterus on the ultrasound screen. So depending in when you consider a pregnancy starting there was that. Was still getting negative HPT before my first beta so was was sure the cycle was a bust and then first beta was 21 which is so low we were sure it wasn't viable. Told him about that that it wasn't looking good but then 2 days later it was 63, still low but good doubling time. And then you have to wait for the ultrasound to confirm everything is as should be. It's kind if a process I suppose as opposed to an exact time. I just asked him and he doesn't actually have a moment in mind if when we found out we were pregnant.
This totally just made me tear up...!
DS was our first so I made more of an effort to tell DH. I put a bun on a plate in the oven, and when he came home from work I said "I think there's something wrong with the oven, can you take a look?" so he looks at it, opens it, looks inside and is looking at me all confused, so I actually had to say "what is it", he goes "a bun". So I'm like "where is it?"... he goes "in the oven". Still not putting it together. I'm like "dude, there's a bun in the oven". Ding ding ding the light finally went on!
This time I was in Phoenix on holidays with my parents when I got the positive test, so I had to call and tell DH over the phone (there was no way I was going to be able to not tell him for 4 more days until I got home!)
I wanted to tell DH in a special way, but it didn't work out like that. I had been testing and getting negatives (and just waiting it out to start provera to end another long cycle-I don't ovulate on my own very often). I had taken another cheapie wondfo and it didn't come up positive right away, so I threw it on the back of the toilet and went to eat breakfast since DH was getting out of the shower and our bathroom isn't huge. When I came back in to shower myself I looked at it, expecting to see a positive, but there was a light 2nd line. I figured it was just an evap, so I didn't tell DH, but I'd never had one of those before, so I waited four hours and tested again. It came back positive, but a little lighter. So I basically went up to him with both pee sticks and gave him a "don't be too excited yet just in case but...". I took another test the next day and it came up positive too. Cue the excitement for both of us.
It was a Thursday and I had had the weirdest bloating and pressure all day. I had tested the day before and it was stark white. When I got home from work at 5:30 I just ran upstairs to take an Internet cheapie. As it dried I noticed the faint line: thank god I had a first response left. I peed on that and god a light line. We were trying but I still went into panic mode. I called DH up and was like H, H do you see that line I'm pregnant. He hadn't seen a test before and was like are you sure? It's light? I then explained how lines worked. We went to target and got two brands of digis which also came up positive. We ordered pizza in because I just didn't even know what to do with myself. I was freaking out- but DH was happy. All the ideas of cute gifts to tell him went out the window!
The first time I was pg I left the peestick on his nightstand to find. All he could excitedly say was "are you serious!?!" Over & over again.
The second time I already knew due to my sore boobies. So I poas and had him verify the line.
The third time I don't remember, probably did it together.
This time, I just felt super crappy, woke up in the middle of the night, decided wtf I'd test. So at like 3:30am I got a blazing positive. Dh's alarm goes off at 5, so I told him then. He didn't want to go to work because he didn't want to leave me by myself. I told him I'd be fine & would call my RE for bloodwork & let him know the beta # ASAP.
BFP#4 3/17/14 - rainbowBaby BOY arrived 11/10/14 !!
DH knew I was testing because I had tested the week before and gotten a BFN. I told him I would wait a week and try again if I hadn't gotten my period. I woke up at 5:00am the next Saturday and took the test... I was shocked to see 2 lines! I went upstairs and DH was awake waiting for me, so I just said "I'm pregnant." His response, "I know." Haha! Apparently he thought I had been a little moody that week and complaining a lot about heartburn.
My mother was with me (well not in the bathroom with me) and SO was at work so I called him so that he would know before my mom did. Not how I wanted to tell him, but I also didn't expect my mom to be there that day...and she saw the test....and nagged me until I took it. She still thinks she was the first told...
Neither of us were expecting it. I remember waking up, my boobs were sore, I was five days late, and feeling really weird and lightheaded. He said to just skip class and lie back down, but I knew something was up. I had a test under the sink so I took it. I told him to wait the three minutes but he just stood there monitoring it, and called back to me about a minute in: "Is one of these lines supposed to fade away??"
Haha, no sweetheart. I guess it was two bright pink lines right away... Very pregnant.
We had just agreed to start trying. I tested a week before my BFP and got a negative. A week later, I had a hunch, so I went to CVS and bought new tests and tested again. I was so in shock that it was a positive!! I ran upstairs and all thoughts of wanting to tell him in a cute way went out the window! I woke him up and said "look!!" he thought I was handing him a pen lmao. He looked at it and said "what?" and I said "I'm pregnant! We're having a baby!!!" he sat in shock and then asked I take the second test to be sure. And lo and behold, here we are expecting baby #2. Days later he said "Idk why you had me doubting myself. I shoot rockets" )
I woke up at 6am that morning and tested with FMU. DH was still sleeping so I had a (quiet) freak out by myself. I went downstairs and made him a "ticket" for "Opening day of parenthood". One of our first dates was to Phillies Opening Day. I proceeded to watch The Bachelor until I couldn't wait anymore and went and woke him up and handed him an envelope with the ticket in it. He laughed and said, "How about that?"
I still tease him about his reaction. He tends to make dorky comments at big moments - like at our first look at our wedding he said "I like your outfit" when he saw me. He's going to be awesome at Dad jokes.
Way cute OP!!!! kinda made me tear up(damn hormones ha ha)
Me and OH we're trying for 6 months and nothing. I got on birth control cause we decided to wait. My first cycle on the pill was fine and so was the second. The third pack I bleed every single day while on them had a week off and started bleeding again. I was taking my pills every day within the minute I was suppose to. Never missed a pill. Never took antibiotics while on them either. I had to go to the dr for a different reason and she asked if I was pregnant and it kinda shocked me cause something clicked about some of the symptoms I was having. So I took a test. I seen a very faint positive and texted my mom ha ha. She said she seen it but when I asked OH he denied it(he was oppressing it ha ha). I retested 2 weeks later after not getting my period and it immediately showed up BFP. I immediately ran to his work and he was in the back room talking to his co worker. I excused myself from interrupting and just handed him the test. At first he thought I was joking. But then he got really excited and started to tear up. He thought he wasn't ever going to be able to have kids because of an accident he had when he was younger. It was kinda bittersweet . Sorry for the lengthy post. But the whole thing had to be told ha ha
With DD I went out and bought two outfits a girl one and a boy one and wrapped them up and told him I bought him a present. He was so confused lol he held up a outfit and was like ugh this is for me? I just smiled and stared at him until it finally hit him. With this one I just ran in the room he was in and told him to look at the test.
I was a little tipsy (yes, I did drink during the 2WW!) and, even though it was probably too early to test (7 or 8 dpo), I thought what the hell and POAS. A VERY light line appeared. I called DH into the bathroom and showed it to him. He didn't think the line was dark enough, but I kept telling him A Line Is A Line. I took another digital test the next day, and then we knew for sure!
