Hi everyone! First time posting here. I always read the boards but thought that this time I'd actually write something! I'm about 7 weeks so far, and it sure has been interesting. Found out last Saturday after taking 2 home tests. The first one was broken (no lines showed at all) and my husband laughed and laughed at me for thinking I was pregnant! Well, after a day of shopping I came home and just had a feeling, so I took the second one and there it was! I defintely enjoyed laughing in his face over that one
He is so excited, and so am I! Obviously very worried though. I am trying not to focus on all the bad things that can happen.
On Tuesday night, I was letting my dogs out for their regular pre-bed bathroom break when I got a severe cramp, felt light headed, and then fainted and fell down some stairs. I woke up in the grass with blood all over my face. I must have hit my nose because I woke up with a bloody nose and now have a really great black eye, and I skinned a large portion of my back. Needless to say, I was terrified! My husband was already at work (works overnight) and it is hard to get in touch with him because of his line of work. I called my boss and she came over to get me to bring me to the ER. They did some blood work and urine tests, but said other than being banged up, it seems like everything pregnancy wise is ok. They could not give me an ultrasound though. Went to my doctor's yesterday and heard the same thing, and I am not having an ultrasound until next Thursday when I am closer to 8 weeks. I guess it's a good sign they don't think I need one asap, but I can't help but feel worried.
I guess that's all! We haven't told anyone yet (except my boss because I couldn't stop crying on the drive to the ER) so I couldn't really explain the story to anyone! Just wanted to let it all out here! Thanks for listening ![]()
Re: Excited and worried! *long post, sorry!
I was given an internal U/S at around 6w because my first pregnancy was ectopic and they wanted to make sure everything was in its right place. We were able to see the tiniest little blob of a baby, and the little moving-pixels flutter of her heart. I'm sure your doctors know what they're doing, and you definitely will have more accurate results by around 8w. The waiting part suuuucks though, I know. I wish I could advocate for you to have an U/S sooner.
Please let us know how it goes, yeah?
