Baby Acne

I've read articles online, and thought I saw a bump feed earlier but am on mobile. How do I get rid of it??? :(

Re: Baby Acne

  • From what I've read...you don't :-( Our son is 4 weeks and has it pretty bad...it's all over his little face and has spread to his neck and shoulders. I have noticed it looks much worse than it is when he is fussy, crying, or hot (pediatrician says this is because there's more blood flowing to the skin and he looks more red/flushed which makes the acne look worse). We've been instructed to wash his face daily with warm water and dry thoroughly. I've been assured it bothers me more than it bothers LO.

But yeah...it bothers me more than I would like to admit.

  • My LO has had it for almost a month now and it finally looks like it is starting to clear up! It did spread to other parts of her body as well :( pediatrician said wash with baby soap regularly- not much else you can do. I have heard others say breastmilk helps clear it up, but it didn't seem to work for my LO.
  • My poor little princess' face is covered too, getting prepared for the teenager phase
  • You pretty much wait it out, unfortunately. DD had it for a few weeks and all I could do was clean her skin with warm water. I tried the breastmilk thing but it didn't seem to help.
  • My LO has had it for about a month. It definitely seems worse now that it's so hot out. But it doesn't last forever.

  • My son had it and it was spreading to his neck and chest. I was just going to wait it out, but his doc suggested a prescription antifungal cream at is one month check. I decided to try it, and the acre cleared up in three treatments!
  • Oops, acne to acre. I don't know how to edit from my phone.
  • I put a little Vaseline on her cheeks the other day because her acne was making her skin very rough and by the next day it was looking and feeling better.
  • I used a bit of Sudocream onDD's cheeks and it seemed to work.

  • Thanks! Used some petroleum jelly and that has been helping quite a bit
  • My LO had horrible acne and also cradle cap. I mentioned to the pedi at his one month that I was going to start using the Mustela cradle cap shampoo and she said to go ahead and try it on his face. I did and the next day it looked drier and worse, so I put lotion on it. The following day it looked better. After about 5 washes with the shampoo and then lotion it was 100% gone.
