Massive pukes anyone?

LO has been having massive, gut wrenching pukes about 2 times/ week for about 4 weeks now. If I had to guess is say they are about 4-5 ounces, and last about 3-5 seconds of straight spewing where LO can't breathe cuz it's a constant flow of fluid. They scare the shit out of me cuz of the not breathing part. Doc is the least bit concerned. Said it's not projectile unless they shoot 3 feet, his only shoot to the tips of his toes, or about a foot or so. It doesn't bother him when it happens, just bothers me, especially cuz it looks like someone popped his stomach like it were a balloon. I've learned I can guess when they are coming because he gets fussy during feeding, but the pukes don't come til about a half hr plus after feeding, usually in the morning but did have one at bedtime too. Anyone in this boat?

    DD2 projectiles after only 5minutes, so I can't predict when it will happen. She never nurses more than 10minutes at a time and only takes one breast per session. I have had it happen hours after feedings, and during feedings. Other than that she's a real mellow baby. You might have luck stopping and doing 5 minutes of burping halfway through feedings and maybe being upright will let him know he's full or de-gas him before he explodes. DD2 vomited all over the ped's office and she still didn't care.

    I wish he had done it at the doc. They drive me nuts saying it's just a spit up. No, spit up is something small drizzling out their mouth... This is 5 seconds of spewing from the depths of the large intestine!

    Yes i do feel for you, cleaning up puddles of vomit is really unfun. I'm still searching for the solution. dr. Was happy at her apt since she had gained a pound since birth (at 3weeks). We've only had one apt however, so I assume she's still gaining now at 7weeks. We have an apt on the 20th but I think I'll have to cancel since we have no insurance and I can't afford a $180 dr visit.
