I'm a saucony girl, but I highly highly recommend you go get fitted at a running store - even if you don't buy there, they'll watch your gait and tell you what issues need correcting. Usually it is stability or cushion -- it can help prevent a lot of injuries and actually make running easier to be in the right shoe!
Agree with everyone--go to a reputable running store (not Di_k's Sporting Goods) and get fitted. (I go to Second Sole or Vertical Runner.) It makes a huge difference. I have been in the ASICS GT series for several years now and love them. I started out in Mizuno Wave Inspires but ended up in the ASICS after the Wave Inspire design changed and was no longer as good for my feet.
