Sore throat?

Anyone have a LO with a sore throat before? What were the symptoms?

My baby hasn't drank much today. When he puts the bottle or sippy cup to his mouth, he'll take one drink then push it away and cry. I just put him to sleep. He always drinks a bottle to go to sleep. He put it in his mouth and pushed it away 3 or 4 times. Then, he just held it in his hands while I rocked him to sleep. It was so sad. He also had a fever yesterday and last night.

Is there anything I can do if it is a sore throat? I'm worried about his fluid intake. Of course this would happen going into a weekend. Now I'm debating on waiting it out or going to quick care tomorrow, and I'm not sure there's much they could do anyway.

    It could also be teething.

    Either way, you could try some Tylenol or Motrin.  I know DH takes advil for sore throats, so I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work for LOs too.  That would also help if it were teething!

    I'd say as long as LO is giving you sufficient wet diapers, it's not worth the trip to quick care.

    Thanks for the input girls. The night was not fun, but he started drinking more towards morning. He seems to be feeling much better today, and he's back to his normal bottle intake. My mom, who is also his babysitter, called and said she has a sore throat today, so I'm thinking that was the problem.
