Does your LO have a middle name? Where did it come from/significance? And I'm not saying other middle names aren't significant - just wondering about those named after someone, meaning, etc.

DD's middle name is my Mom's middle name (Jane) - it also sounds nice together. My Mom survived breast cancer and it was our way to honor her and give DD strength in her name. :-)

DS is named after his great grandparents. First name shares the first three letters with great grandma and his middle name is great grandpa's name.

We're opposite...in DH's family, the son gets the father's middle name as the first!

We liked the meaning, it's patriotic and not very common, though it's not so out there that it gets a side eye. Funnily enough, it's also part of the name of the company H and I worked for when we met though we really weren't thinking of that when we chose it!

We honored the president with his middle name. This was a specific request of my partner's early in my pregnancy and we found it personally suitable, so we actually had the middle name right off and chose the first name after. His middle name is Barack. I received quite a bit of criticism for it from certain members of my family but our overall feeling was that regardless of his future political affiliations that this name would have personal and historical significance to him.

LO's middle name (Leo) is my grandfather's name (now deceased). Just so happens he's also a Leo sign so I guess it has extra special significance. DS1's middle name (Elliot) is DH's dad's MN also. I asked DH how to spell it when we filled out the birth certificate so we could get it right. DH's dad recently informed me, however, that he spells it Elliott. Daddy fail.

All three have MNs w significance.

Big one: shared MN w H, H's dad and my grandfather (Joseph)

Twin A: his MN is H's dad and my grandfather's first name (H's dad and my grandfather share a first and middle name (Anthony)

Twin B: his MN is H's grandfather's first name. (George)

I wasn't given a MN when I was born. When I got married, I made my maiden name my middle name. My full name now is awful sounding bc my maiden and married names are both ethnic-sounding w lots of syllables.

LOs MN is from his grandfather who passed away on Christmas so LO will never get to meet him. In DH's tradition the elder of the family names the baby and won't do it until the baby is born so I got to find out LO MN at the hospital after DH told my dad first. His MN is Paggu which means blessings from God.
