Welcome to the TTC a Rainbow Sibling check-in. This check-in is a for TTCAL-ers with living children to talk about the issues about TTCAL while you have a living child. Living children and pictures of living children are welcome here, however if your pictured child is an infant (< a year old), please do place a warning at the beginning of your post to alert ladies who are having a hard day. You do not have to be active on the PAL board in order to be a member of this check-in, however, if you plan on posting on the main board please post an intro there.

Thanks @BookishMomma! I still have to go in for final blood work tomorrow AM but I've gotten 3 BFNs so far so I know in my heart this IUI was unsuccessful. I had a big appointment with my RE yesterday, here is my update from the TTCAL board:

I can't say I feel positive about having to do another IUI, but I do feel positive about my decision to try one or two more rounds of IUI instead of moving right to IVF. It would be so hard over the summer with both girls out of school to coordinate everything! This way I know what to expect and I can make travel plans and enjoy my summer.

Thanks, @bookishmomma! @frenchteachermama I'm sorry. I think you're making the right decision to try IUI a few more times. I want to enjoy my summer too!

I am ok I guess. I don't really know how I feel. I was pretty emotional after the first two but now I have horrible anxiety - my body is so tense and I feel nauseous. Is that normal? I wonder if it's from my hormones being out of whack. I think I'm just nervous about my RE appointment. I had the BEST mani/pedi today. I needed that! Going home to see my parents tonight, dropping DS off with them for the weekend and heading to a wedding. I'm a bridesmaid so please keep me in your thoughts that I can be my normal happy self this weekend! I think it will be good for me to focus on someone besides myself.

Does anyone know how to add my FF chart to my siggy? I tried several times but it only showed the link. I just use the free version.

@frenchteachermama I'm so sorry about the IUI. I was really keeping my fx for ya! I read your post about your meeting with the new RE. I am so happy you had a great meeting with him. It sounds like you and your DH really really loved him. Good luck with your blood work tomorrow!

AFM- I'm just hanging out here waiting for AF. Nothing too exciting. I thought I was having some EWCM today, so I took a digi Opk...negative, but I think I'm going to keep taking them just in case. DH and I BD for the first time since the loss yesterday night, and it was amazing. I thought I would cry, but I didn't.

QOTW- Swimming! I love to watch DS swim in our pool with his floats on his arms:D Cracks me up. He wore my sunglasses last year and was laying back enjoying the pool. I also love to watch him run through his sprinkler. The joy he gets out of it is amazing!

@rlsh10 girrrrl cheers to that! And I'm not messing around with any of that cheap stuff anymore. I will enjoy every sip! As for EWCM, I swear mine always comes like 5 days before O. Hope you get a positive OPK soon! BD anyway.

I forgot the QOTW: I'll have to say we love to go on the boat. Ward LOVES the boat. We take it to the beach and pull up to a sandbar. Last year he wasn't walking so I had to carry him around and I was nursing. This year he will be running and digging in the sand and I will be enjoying LOTS of summer cocktails (until I hopefully get a BFP). I promise I'm only a temporary alcoholic.

Thank you for the check-in! I haven't gotten a + OPK yet but I have two test that are almost there (June 4 and June 5). I have one more OPK left and I have been having cramps today and we bd this morning we are going to again tonight.

Favorite Summer Activity is playing at the park with bubbles and swimming.

Mara005 - Will you test or wait out AF?

I may test on Monday, but I am starting to lose hope now, I've had reddish CM today so I think I'm out.

QOTW: Going to the local water park is my favorite thing to do. We get season passes so we go often, spending a couple hours 2 or 3 times a week. We are able to go when it's not so busy because I stay a home and that's great. Plus he is finally at the age where he can play in the kiddie pools without me right next to him.

@goldengirl: for your question regarding how to get a link to your chart... this is how I did it on a desktop computer. Not sure how to do it from mobile.

Go to the page on Fertility Friend where you enter your information each day. At the top there is a tab that says "Sharing." Click on that and select "get code" from the dropdown menu. That will give you various options for inserting a link or a mini picture of your chart in your siggy.

Or, if you just want the direct link, you can select "View" from that menu and it will bring you to the view of your chart that other people see. Then you can cut and paste the code from the browser bar to link to it. HTH!

BookishMomma! How are you doing?

We had our initial appt. with the RE yesterday. He looked over the blood work my OB had done and wasn't concerned with any clotting or thyroid issues. He did a u/s and organs/follies look good. The only thing he is suspicious of is a genetic issue, possibly a balanced translocation. So they took blood from both DH and I and we will get the results of that in 2-3 weeks. If it comes back normal, there's nothing the RE can do for us. He says the research doesn't support progesterone or any other supplements or homeopathic remedies but he will monitor betas for peace of mind. If genetic testing comes back indicating an issue he said the only options are to try naturally knowing we have a greatly increased risk of m/c or do IVF with PGD. DH and I have already decided we will not do IVF so there's no reason to avoid anymore and we will start TTC this cycle. I have an appt. set up for August with another RE (hopefully she's a little more open to alternative therapies) in case we need it, but I'm hoping we don't.

@ellebelle2384 - I am glad you have a plan with your RE, but I hope you find the second RE to be more receptive to alternative therapies. I think there is evidence of many of these therapies helping, so I hope you can find someone who will work with you if that is what you want to try.

@mara005 - The water park sounds like a blast! Isn't it great when you realize your LO is old enough to play a little on his/her own? Love it!

@sarcaztic10 - Hope everything goes well with your houses!

@goldengirl84 - I am sorry you are feeling so nervous - give yourself some grace and time to heal - mani/pedi time sounds like a great way to relax! Have a good time this weekend!

My lap/HSG is scheduled for Monday. AF showed on Tuesday, so we will be starting fresh this cycle and I have no restrictions other than lifting so should be able to TTC right away. Hoping to get some scar tissue removed (if they see any, it is just suspected at this point) and my right tube reopened. Pretty excited for that!

Our old house is getting so close to going on the market - we will be going this Saturday to get some of the last projects out of the way. Hoping we can get a for sale sign in front before vacation later this month. That would be nice!

QOTW - We look forward to going to the zoo in the summer. We usually go to a local zoo and one that is larger a few hours away. We also love planting flowers and working in the garden - Cora said she wanted to be a gardener when she grows up! As a family, we like to play frisbee golf with some friends and then play at the playground after. It's a fun (and free) activity!

@elliebelle2384 It sounds like you had quite the appointment! I am truly hoping that there is something this RE can do for you. My fingers and toes are crossed for you!

sarcaztic10 I hope your body gets back to normal for you soon! I am waiting for that to happen as well. Ugh! I really hope that everything goes smooth with your home sale! We bought our home from 3 hours away, so I can't imagine having to sell a home from how ever many states away! Good luck!

AFM: I'm currently dealing with some allergy/sinus issue. I have been eating much better this week and we started going to our community pool with DD this week. I need to make more of an effort to get outside after work to get in more exercise. Also, we found out that DH has to do 6 days a week for the forseeable future because a guy at work quit. They don't typically do any new hiring until everyone is up for requalification in the fall. DH knows our time is even more limited, but is insistent on ttc so we have a plan going forward since I never know if/when I O because of how long my cycles are. I've been consistently tracking, but I'm hoping I'm not messing it up somehow. Hope you ladies have a good week!

@goldengirl84 ((hugs)) I hope this weekend is SUPER fun and you get a chance to have a great time with your DH and friends. I think your anxiety is normal, but make sure to tell your doctor about everything if you feel like it's taking over your life.

Have a question my morning temp yesterday was 97.9 and this morning it was 97.1, could be a sight that ovulation is close?

@Neary2011 It could be your dip before O. Many women see a dip in their temp right before they O. I am one of those women, but I've been temping for a few years now so I know my pattern. Hopefully you are too!! Hope you have time to BD tonight

@Neary2011 - Can you post a link to your chart? That would help me see what is going on and give some advice based on my own experiences temping.

@Nieko0423 - I hope DH's schedule allows you to get BD in when necessary. I know how hard it can be to have your DH working a lot of hours. The aquarium is tons of fun, too! I so wish we lived closer to one.

@TMaggie0424 - Thank you for the encouraging words! I so hope for a similar success story. Seeing as we got a BFP after our last HSG, I am hopeful that reopening my tube will be helpful.

I'm doing OK, thanks! Had another beta draw on Wednesday and it was 27, down from 88 last week. So just waiting for it to be negative and for AF to show. I'm ready to get this TTC show back on the road and honestly I think DH is, too. So many of our friends seem to be having or are pregnant with baby #2 or more at the moment, including an "oops" that makes me want to throw things. But @frenchteachermama said something on the main TTCAL board that really resonated with me... that this is about OUR families and our timelines, not other people's. Still, it's hard not to let jealousy rear its ugly head.

QOTW: I love planting things with DS. Flowers, tomatoes, whatever. We love planting and watering stuff together and digging our hands in the dirt.

@BookishMomma it's so easy to fall into that jealousy mode, we're human and it's such a natural emotion especially when it's something you want to badly. I have a really good friend who had her first at 37 (after 2 miscarriages) and her second at 41 (after 3 more miscarriages). She is a very private person and doesn't talk much about her losses, but she called me a few months ago to give me a pep talk. Now that she looks back on her journey she can't imagine it any other way. She feels like the two girls beautiful girls that she has came to her when they were supposed to. I think back to right before we were moving to our current town and we weren't TTC. Life was great. I wasn't jealous when other people announced their pregnancies, I was just happy for them. I hate that all I feel when someone announces their pregnancy is jealousy. I hate that I check who is drinking wine and who isn't. I hate that I am having so much trouble. I hate how down on myself I get. I don't want to be that person anymore.

The grass is always greener but some day OUR grass will be the greenest ever in the whole wide world! And until then we have each other.

Hi Ladies! TGIF!

I haven't posted in a while please forgive me. I'm in the middle of my 4th cycle AL and the first month of using OPK's & temping - chart in siggy. I think I o'd on cd 14 but I think ff will say 15 either way I think we've had good timing but I have to say even w/o temping and opk's and just checking CM I think our timing has been decent each month now...so who knows. It is reassuring to know for sure that I'm Oing - my cycles have regulated back to 28/29 days as before loss. I guess I'll officially be in the 2WW in the next couple days.

@frenchteachermama - I'm so sorry. I do think you're making the right decision to give it another try or 2 before IVF. Def enjoy your summer!

@goldengirl84 - I just added my chart this morning and had to try a few times. Make sure you hit the pic of the < > first and the c&p the link in after that. That's what worked for me. I'm mightily jealous of your mani/pedi - desperately need one and don't see one in my near future. Good luck this weekend - I'm sure you'll do great!

@BookishMomma Thanks for the check in! I can completely relate w/ the finding out of so many of my mommy friends w/ baby #2. I think I was the 1st one to say I was ready to start ttc for #2 out of our group and now it seems like everyone is achieving that ahead of me...it's hard. BUT you're right...this is about our timeline and our family and it's good to keep the focus here.

QOTW: my favorite activity w/ my little one is taking her to the neighborhood pool or splash pad. she loves the water!

stephy1221 - How are the workouts going?

They are going really well, I am working out 5 days a week and I met with a nutritionist this week to get a good meal plan going. I also applied for a new job and they have requested a phone interview so I am excited/nervous as hell. Things are looking up.

QOTW: What’s your favorite summertime activity with your kid(s)?

Hands down the beach. We go for the day or sometimes go for an few hours after work and have dinner or ice cream on the beach. People are shocked to see us anywhere but the beach on summer weekends.
