Fitness Fridays!

Sorry for forgetting last week and almost forgetting today. I started my period and that led to an ocular migraine that I'm just now recovering from. Last week I was pretty slack with food, it was my sons birthday and I just needed a break from being so strict. I also didn't run at all but did hit crossfit 4 times. The scale reflected it! It was nice but I'm over it and back to being healthy this week. This week, I ran once and cross fitted m-f. Need to fit some more running, not much of an excuse because Henry can go in the jogging stroller. How was your week?

Re: Fitness Fridays!

  • We started this 30 day healthy eating challenge and it's messing with my supply. Uuggghh be skinny or feed my kid?!?!

Same thing happened here. After two days I noticed a dip. Today I had cookies for breakfast...and lunch.

@Sunshine5788 I've been running and I am 20 pounds over my preferred weight. I'm slower but I haven't had any issues.

I started Pure Barre this week. I am going 3 days a week now and I am hoping it will help me tone up. Just running isn't cutting it.
I haven't improved my diet yet though. I need to!

I noticed the same thing when I started a paleo diet challenge about a month pp. It should come back but up your healthy carbs like sweet potatoes and other root veggies, fruits and nuts. I wouldn't give up, just give it a little time to adjust

@Sunshine5788‌ - I get lapped in races all the time by women who are significantly more than 20lbs overweight. The precautions are the same regardless of your weight. Start slow, add miles slowly, use caution with interval training. @jyparker725‌ - my girlfriend just became a pure barre teacher - I'd love to try it. She's giving free classes next week but I'd have to bring Henry so I'm hesitant
  • Last week was actually pretty good as far as workouts go. Got out a few times for some run/walks, did Zumba on Monday, and this morning I am trying a Barre class for the first time!
As far as eating goes, some days are better than others. Lost half a pound last week. Atleast it's not a gain I guess??

  • I went walking at a local park for an hour Monday-Friday
I really need to stick to the good eating part! It always seems like I loose my self control during the middle of the night. Last night I had some cookies, the night before I had cereal
I also want to stop weighing myself everyday I become a bit obsessed with the number I see.

  • 3 days of crossfit this week! I'm very proud of myself :). Squats are my Achilles heel, though. And running. Someday I won't be last in running.

I haven't been adjusting my diet, yet. I'll work on portion sizes and less sweets this week. I also want to add a little cardio on my off days.

For now, I'm just happy I made it for three strong crossfit workouts. I'm pushing the boundaries of functionally sore this week.

  • I should do more yoga as right now I do nothing but run.

I run four days a week, I'm in week 4 of 21 of my training plan for the St George marathon. Got 18 miles to do tomorrow - I am drinking double what I used to in training with BFing. Last week I drank 40oz over 16 miles. Thinking I might have to bring my Nathan vest that holds 70oz!

So far no dip in supply which I'm thankful for. I'm still 1-2 lbs up from prepregnancy weight.
    I like Pop Tarts.
  • Exercise question. My stomach muscles have a great divide after having the twins (diastasis something?) Anyone else have this & know good excercises to help?

They will eventually move back together, it just takes time.

It feels so strange! I've had 3 pregnancies & this has only happened with this last one (was just bigger, I suppose!) Thanks!
Mine separated too, and it was actually really painful at a certain point during my pregnancy. I haven't felt in a while to see it they are back together yet though.

  • I was really good this week and gained 3 pounds. WTF?? I'm pissed and want to eat ALL the treats...
  • Didn't see today's, so I am posting here. @KateVA‌ sorry about your migraines. :(

So I know I am overweight but I didn't think it was that bad until I saw myself in pictures from father's day. Am I really that fat?? I don't look like that in the mirror. And it wasn't just one picture, it's every picture. I'm out of shape and have even gained a bit recently.

I am getting very very discouraged due to my constant severe exhaustion. Is anyone else tired all the time and how do you deal with it?? I'd give anything to be able to exercise and have energy to prepare decent meals.

And before you say I'm tired because I'm not exercising- while I'm sure that's true, it's not the sole cause. The fix is not as simple as to start moving. I have recently tried going on easy walks and they have made me extremely more tired afterwards, for days.

HELP!! I don't know what to do. :(
  • @sventurarn‌, any little thing to ease yourself into a routine would be beneficial. Training your body to respond to exercise through a gradual increase may cut down on the exhaustion. Not that I'm an expert, but I think that starting with a stretch and meditation routine may work. Try yoga or pilates for a mind and body workout. :)
