So my DD is 17 months old and she still to this day has never said Mommy or Momma. She knows who I am but just grunts at me if she want's something. If I say, "Say Mommy", she says "Dada". It was really cute when she started doing that at 9 months, but now I'm like, "Come on! Show Mommy some love!" LOL She says other words like, Baby, Cold, Pretty, Kitty Cat, Thank You, etc. But she won't say Mommy. It makes me kind of sad, and DH rubbing it in my face doesn't help. (He does it in a playful way).
I will say, that I am the only one who gets morning kisses from her every morning without asking, so I think that makes up for it. I just wondered if any other moms were getting the shaft like me.

same here, DS only started calling me mama consistently about a month ago. he used to call me and DH daddy. of course, now he's started calling DH "mama" some of the time.
06/10 mmc@ 10 weeks: 03/11 mc @ 8 weeks due to blighted ovum.
Actually, she uses "mommy" for any time she needs to ask anyone for help with anything. Like, she'll go hand her coat to her grandpa, and say, "maaaah-meeeee!" if she wants it put on. Or she'll say, "momMEE?" if she wants to know if she's allowed to have something, like a piece of food she wants.
Kid language is weird.
It will come and then you'll wish it would stop. My 6yo. calls me enough for her and her sister.
