Hello all!!
Just wondering if anyone has used Femera and Injectables!!?? I'm looking for the dirt on them.
My wife and I have not tried in over 15 months but are thinking about trying again in the next few months. I used Femera and trigger as a booster for 4 IUI cycles. The 3rd cycle gave us an hcg of 8 I believe, which our clinic counts as pregnant. Hcg went down two days later, they said it was a good sign and that something happened though. We tried one more time before giving up.
And here we are now, a year older! All tests were good last time around, dr says no need to retest this time. He wants to try one more time with just Femera and then do a transvaginal-hydro laposcopy test. Anyone had one of those? He says with injects and femera there is a 10-15% chance of multiples.
We have one more vial of our donor that is paid for and there are no vials left, as he has retired. Which sucks! We love him!
What would you do?
TIA!
Re: Femera+Injects
@wishiwaspreggo did a hybrid cycle recently. I used Femara for three cycles and have used Gonal-F for four cycles. My understanding with mixing them is that the injects help the quality of your eggs.

We've been working on baby #1 since July 2013 using Open ID donor sperm. 8 IUI attempts with 5 actual IUIs and one chemical pregnancy. We have one fresh IVF cycle under our belts as well as a FET. I have endometriosis and a uterine septum that was corrected via surgery in November 2013.
11/14/14 - Second HSG shows that tubes are still clear and ute is looking good.
12/6/14 - Started BCPs in prep for IVF #2
12/22/14 - Saline u/s and endometrial scratch (All was clear and OUCH!)
1/2/15 - Began stimming for IVF #2

How many IUI's does your dr recommend trying? I'm so confused about what to do and it's sooo damn expensive
I have had 2 IUIs since the surgery, but 4 attempts total...again, details in my siggy. We feel frustrated and like we are spinning our wheels, so we are moving to IVF. It has been a year since we started. We want a baby and are tired of the process.
One thing to consider...if you are paying OOP for IUI cycles, look at how many it would take before it would equal the cost of IVF. While IVF is a big step, it could make more sense financially and you get a higher success rate. It also is more controlled in the fact that you can control how many are transferred.

Yes, my last cycle was a hybrid cycle
I did 5 days of Femara and then I think 8 days of Follistim. I did not respond at all to the Femara and the only stimming I got was from the Follistim. That cycle failed so now I'm on all injects.
I say it's worth it to try a hybrid cycle since many women seem to do well with it. Plus it's cheaper. Follistim is expensive stuff. You have to keep ordering more depending on how you respond. The idea with a hybrid cycle is to get your follicles started on Femara and then boost them with Follistim. Assuming you respond well to Femara, this may be the magic key for you!
Good luck!!!
